Seminar on (CV Making) A seminar on CV Making was organized by the department of B.Sc.(I.T) on 13th August 2019 in St. John College of Humanities and Sciences. The total 40 students have participated from T.Y. B.Sc. (I.T.). The seminar commenced with welcome speech by Ms. Smita Chaudhari (HOD, B.Sc. I.T) explained the objectives and importance of the workshop. The motive behind conducting this seminar was to introduce the basic idea about how to make effective CV for the interview. The session started with keynote lecture on what is CV and how to make it by Mr. Mahesh Rane,M.Sc.(I.T.). The session was conducted for two hours. The real life use of CV were discussed and made the session really interactive by providing an opportunity to make more effective CV. Participants were indeed curious to provide various solutions .

Workshop on How to Write a Research Paper

Workshop on How to Write a Research Paper St. John College of Humanities & Sciences, Research Committee (Faculty) has organized a Workshop on “How to Write a Research Paper” for all teaching staff of Humanities and Sciences at the institute premises on 20th July, 2019. The major objective of the programme was to create awareness about the research culture and it is indispensable part of teaching faculty for their personal development as well as for institute development. Research culture benefits the student and in return to the society at large.Guest of the programme was felicitated by Sr. Hilda (Admin Manager, SJCHS) with flower bouquet.The speaker of the programme was Dr.Suchita Karvir, Associate Professor, P.L.Shroff College of Arts and Commerce, Chinchani, Dahanu. In total 22 faculties have attended the workshop.Speaker of the programme addressed the issue related to research and guided about how to write a research paper and various other issues required to be considered for research paper.The programme concluded with the vote of thanks given by Ms. Pooja Shetty, Head of Department, Commerce, SJCHS.

Self Defence Workshop and its Practical Demonstration

Self Defence Workshop and its Practical Demonstration Participants : Girls Students of St. John Technical Campus NSS units (SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHS) Resource person : Mr. Anil Mali (President, Nihon Shotokon Karate do Federation India) St. John Technical Campus – NSS Units, St. John College of Engineering and Management (SJCEM), St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research (SJIPR), St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (SJCHS), NSS Units in association with Nihon Shotokon Karate Do Federation (NSKF) India had taken an initiative to create an awareness about to empower girls. The main objective of this programme was to guide girl students for their safety and not to neglect the attitude of ignorance about their safety in their life. Mr. Vinit Dhanu (Secretary, NSKF India) and Mr. Anil Mali (President, NSKF India), were Chief Guest of the function. Dr. G.V. Mulgund ( Principal, SJCEM), Mr. Sachin Urade (NSS Programme Officer, SJCEM), Mr. Amol Gholap (NSS Programme Officer, SJIPR), Ms. Shraddha More (NSS Programme officer, SJCEM) Mr. Sachin Gawali( NSS Programme Officers of SJCHS), Ms. Sonam Yadav( NSS coordinator of SJCHS) were present for this Programme. The first session was held on 20th July, 2019. The introductory speech was given by Rucha Keni, NSS Volunteer. She also welcomed the guests and other team members of Karate Team. The practical session also included the basic techniques to defend against any type of physical assault. Total 95 volunteers were participated in this programme and had shown their interest for all type of practical demonstration. Ms. Geetanjali Raut, NSS volunteer proposed vote of thanks to all. The second session was held on 10th August, 2019. The Instructors Mr. Shivcharan Yadav (Joint Secretary, Nihon Shotokon Karate do Federation India) and Mr. Bhavendra Mestry . Mrs. Sangita Dubey is an officer in Railways and a National level champion in Karate. The purpose of this session was to concentrate on the exercises that will help to build a body which is tough enough to learn the self defense moves. She gave a short speech to girls about daily incidents occurring around and why it is necessary to learn Self Defense. Total 53 girls volunteers participated in this programme. Lastly Ms. Himali Trivedi, NSS volunteer proposed the vote of thanks. The seminar was concluded successfully with a Theme: “Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow”

Seminar on IoT (Internet of Thing)

Seminar on IoT (Internet of Thing) A seminar on IoT(Internet of Thing) was organized by the department of B.Sc.(I.T) on 6th July, 2019 in St. John College of Humanities and Sciences. The total 45 students have participated from S.Y. B.Sc. (I.T.).The seminar commenced with welcome speech by Ms. Smita Chaudhari (HOD, B.Sc. I.T) explained the objectives and importance of the workshop. The motive behind conducting this seminar was to introduce the basic idea about how Internet can help in our day to day life and enhance project skills and familiarize with Internet of Things. The session started with keynote lecture on IoT and future of connected world by Mrs. Rojal Rodrigues, (M.E EXTC) . The session was conducted for two hours. It provided the insights of IoT applications for smart home, smart cities, smart lights, smart retails, energy issues, health and life style and car connect. The real life use cases were discussed on IoT application and made the session really interactive by providing an opportunity to suggest a solution to real life scenario. Participants were indeed curious to provide various solutions .
