World AIDS Day Awareness Programme Date: 1st December, 2020Activity: HIV/ AIDS Awareness Programme (Online Mode)Participants: NSS Volunteers of SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHSTime: 4:00 pm to 5:00 pmPlace: St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Vevoor, Manor Road, Palghar(E), Dist: Palghar As per the directives received from University of Mumbai, NSS Cell, St. John Technical and Educational Campus has decided to observe with the theme 2020 i.e “Ending of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Resilience and Impact”The National Service Scheme Units of St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Palghar organized “ World AIDS Day ” on 1st December, 2020 from 4: 00 pm to 5:00 pm through online mode with active participation of NSS volunteers. At St. John Technical Campus, Palghar, 1st December 2020, was observed as World Aids Day. Dr. Anitha Chettiar, (Director Institute of Social Service, New Delhi) was invited as a chief guest for the event. She delivered relevant information about HIV / AIDS and spread awareness among all students about the difference between HIV and AIDS, symptoms, precautions to be taken, treatment and test to be done. Finally, the event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Aishwarya Bhangale, NSS volunteer of St. John College of Engineering and Management, Palghar. Indeed, it was a memorable day organized by NSS volunteers. St. John Technical campus always creates awareness among students about social consciousness and responsibility for the nation and societyin general.

Webinar on “Health Benefits of Indian Herbs and Spice”

Webinar on “Health Benefits of Indian Herbs and Spice” St. John college of Humanities Science (Hospitality Department) had organised an webinar Health Benefits of Indian Herbs and Spice, on 4th November 2020. The speaker for the webinar was Ms Bhvani Swaminathan . Ms Bhavani explained in brief about the all herbs and spices and their role and medicinal uses. Ms Bhavani told us many information about the spices that we have not heard. For the webinar there were all the faculties of Hospitality Department and all the student of Fy, Sy, Ty students. At the last of the session there was the question answer session where Ms Bhavani gave all the answer to the students question and clear their doubts. One of the student from the Sy gave the vote of thanks to the speaker of the day and the webinar got over.

Webinar on “CHEFS JOURNEY”

Webinar on “CHEFS JOURNEY” 20th October is celebrated as International chefs days by conducting various events throughout the world.SJCHS Hospitality Studies department organised Chefs Journey webinar by calling own alumnus Chef Pratik Patil. A WEBINAR was conducted to enhance students knowledge about the chef profession. The webinar started on time with lots of enthusiasm on google meet platform. Mr Swapneel Shirsat introduced guest speaker, Mr Pratik Patil. 73 students participated from FY, SY & TY & all faculties from hospitality studies. Chef Pratik shared his achievements and knowledge about the industry which motivated students to become a successful chef in their life. He also informed students about work ethics at the workspace. Chef Pratik shared his Journey to become Dcdp at Carnival cruise line with his successes mantra. A question and answer session was started from 1:10 PM and Webinar ended at 1:30 Pm with thanksgiving by students and Mr.Swapneel Shirsat.

Pre-Marriage Counselling The session described about the Seven stages of Married life along with the reasons of pitfalls and the desired actions to be taken for keeping the marriage bond strong.The students queries were answered after the session. The session remained a successful one and students did appreciate the effort of WDC idea and efforts. Total 75 students attended the session.

Workshop on Flower Arrangement

Workshop on Flower Arrangement Conducted on Tuesday, 03th Feb 2020Resource Person : Mrs. Priyanka Khandekar.Time : 09.40 am to 04.40 p.m.Venue : 1st floor, Housekeeping Lab of Humanities & Sciences building.Duration : 5 hours(4 hrs demo , 30 mins break and 2 hrs workshop) OBJECTIVE: The objective of this workshop is to create an awareness and enhance students creativity in flower arrangement using various types, shapes and colours ACTIVITIES:1. Introduction to types of flowers, fillers, equipments, containers, accessories was given by our lecturer “Mrs. Priyanka Khandekar”2. Demonstration were held for five hours. In these hours ma’am covered five types of styles of flower arrangement. She demonstrated with proper explanation of each style and also explained how to make innovation using our ideas.3. Question-Answer Session :Question-Answer Session was held after demonstration where all the doubts were cleared and their understanding on the relevant subject was checked.4. Practical Session :After a short break students were allowed to do flower arrangement by their own. Group of two student were made. Students tried to make different styles of flower arrangement. ACHIEVEMENT:1. Familiarization with Flower arrangement materials2. Selection, care, and conditioning of Plant materials.3. Develop knowledge about Styles of flower arrangements.
