Christmas Celebration​

christmas celebration​ Christmas celebration was on 22nd December,2021 in the event hall of SJCEM with all faculties and staff of the entire campus. It was very happily celebrated. The event started with inauguration done by Chairman. Later there were various skit, Carol’s and dances prepared by the students and faculties. Their were various spot prizes given. Also the intiative was take to celebrate the Christmas by arranging the secret santa where everyone got the gift from the secret santa.

Diwali Celebration

Diwali Celebration Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across India. The name ‘Deepavali’ literally means an ‘array of lights’. To mark the significance of Diwali, St. John College of Hospitality Studies had a celebration on 01st November 2021. Honorable Chairman Sir Mr. Albert D’Souza lit the diyas & wished ‘Happy Diwali’ to the staff & students. Diwali, the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Diwali Celebration​

diwali celebration​ Festival of lights, Diwali was celebrated on 30th October, 2021 from 1:00 pm onwards in Event Hall, SJCHS with all faculty and staff of St. John College of Humanities & Sciences. Everyone one participated in the celebration the celebration started with the welcoming the faculties all the staff members with Aarti . After that the inauguration was done by diya lighting done by Principal sir. The event hall hall was decorated with diyas and lightings which created a pleasant environment. Also various games were planned and conducted like antakshari and damsheras . Also everyone contributed 200 rs and food and snacks were ordered from the canteen. After the games and fun events took place everyone had lunch.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration Date : 2nd October 2019 Participants: NSS Volunteers of SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHS NSS Unit Time: 7.30 am to 11:00 am Total Participants: 28 NSS Volunteers Venue : Palghar Nagarparishad, Near Palghar Station On 2nd October 2019 i.e. on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti Celebration, St. John Technical Campus – NSS Units of all affiliated institutes like St. John College of Engineering and Management, Palghar (SJCEM), St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research (SJIPR), St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (SJCHS) – NSS units in association with Nagarparishad, Palghar District authorities took an initiative to create an awareness of ‘The harmful effects of plastics under 51 micron on our environment’ and ‘The advantages of using clothes bags instead of plastic bags’. For this event, the plastic collection drive was conducted by Palghar Nagarparishad Authorities. Honourable Dr. Ujwala Kale (President of Palghar Nagarparishad ) was the chief guest and Mr. Arvind Mali (CEO, Nagarparishad Palghar) was the guest of honor for this event. The people of Old Age Home and NSS volunteers participated. The Programme was held at Paachbatti Station and started with a prayer and all officers paid tributes to the freedom fighters. Later, all the Authorities and Officers started to clean surrounding areas and insisted all shopkeepers to give plastics to the volunteers for recycling. All have participated in the Rally which was held from Paachbatti to Local Bhaji Market. Volunteers tried to spread awareness of uses of clothes bags to the vendors and shopkeepers. For creating an awareness, attractive Clothes Bags were distributed to them in Palghar Market area. A skit was performed by Paayvaat production on the harmful effects of plastic on the environment. After that dignitaries and volunteers took a pledge against plastic waste. The volunteers were divided in equal groups and some areas were allocated to them. The students encouraged all local public to deposit their plastic waste at the plastic collection centres. The programme successfully ended with a theme “Swachhata Hi Seva”.

Guru Purnima Celebration

Guru Purnima Celebration Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Ashadh of the Hindu Calendar to pay our homage to the lineage of spiritual masters. It coincides with the holy birthday of Shri Ved Vyas, the compiler of 4 Veda & 18 Purans. This year, the pious day fell on 16th July, 2019 as per English Calendar. On this sacred day of Guru Purnima, the Literary Club of St. John College of Humanities & Sciences celebrated this day with all the teaching & non-teaching staff of the college. Both the teaching and non-teaching staff were welcomed in the Hindu ritual style of applying ‘Tilak’ to the forehead. Handcrafted roses were gifted to all the faculty members as a token of love from students. Sister Hilda Albuquerque (Administrative Head) was the Chief Guest and she graced the event showering a lot of appreciation for the students for their respect for the teachers. The student members of the Literary Club hosted the event with great enthusiasm. Rueben Alwa (SYBMS) & Naman Kherodiya (SYBCom.) were the speakers of the event. The event started with St. Francis prayer. Shristi Anand (SYBBI) gave a speech on the significance of this auspicious day, starting with the hymn of ‘Gurur Bramha’. An amusing game was arranged for all the faculty members where they were required to use their imagination to construct a story based on the stuffs that were especially assorted for them. While the participating faculty members took on the challenge of the game and spouted funny and interesting stories, all others laughed and were regaled listening to their stories. The inspiration of this game came to the students through the club’s vision and mission of ‘Carving Creative Persona’ wherein the students will develop their thinking capabilities. No doubt, the students really racked their mind in thinking of a game that would be suitable for the faculty members. And the staff also responded with equal enthusiasm by involving themselves in the exercise in imagination. Lastly, the festivity ended with the vote of thanks by Prabhakar Prajapati (SY BSc. HS)
