Ganpati Naivedya Thali Celebrates Tradition and Hospitality

The Department of Hospitality Studies at St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (SJCHS) organised a special “Ganpati Naivedya Thali” on Friday, 11 September 2026, at the Training Restaurant of the college to celebrate the cultural and traditional significance of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The event welcomed the Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff from all campuses, faculty members, and students of Hospitality Studies. Students actively participated in the preparation and service of the traditional thali, demonstrating their skills in food presentation, guest handling, professional etiquette, teamwork, and restaurant operations.

The initiative beautifully combined the celebration of Maharashtra’s festive traditions with experiential learning, enabling students to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-life hospitality environment. The event also fostered fellowship and interaction among staff members across all campuses while highlighting the importance of Indian culinary traditions and professional hospitality.
