Christmas Cake Mixing Ceremony Celebrated at SJCHS

The Department of Hospitality Studies organised a Christmas Cake Mixing Ceremony on 23 September 2026 from 3.00 p.m. onwards at the SJCHS Training Restaurant. The event brought together First Year, Second Year, and Third Year Hospitality Studies (HS) students, Faculty Members, and Management in a festive and engaging atmosphere.

The ceremony aimed to introduce students to the traditional practice of Christmas cake preparation while providing practical exposure to ingredients, preparation techniques, hygiene, sanitation, food safety, teamwork, and professional bakery practices. Students, faculty members, and management actively participated in the cake mixing activity, promoting coordination, communication, discipline, and a spirit of togetherness.

The event also featured two dance performances by the students, which added an entertaining and cultural element to the celebration and enhanced the festive atmosphere. The ceremony provided students with valuable exposure to both culinary practices and event management.

The enthusiastic participation of students, faculty members, and management made the ceremony a meaningful and memorable experience. The event successfully combined culinary tradition, cultural celebration, teamwork, entertainment, and hospitality education, contributing to the students’ practical learning and overall development in the field of Hospitality Studies.
