Webinar on “Current Trends in Mixology”

Webinar on “Current Trends in Mixology” On 21st of January 2021, St. John college of Humanities & Sciences-Hospitality department conducted a webinar @ 13:15 hours IST on the topic of “Current Trends in Mixology” and the guest speaker was Mr. Ajinkya Chaughule currently the Head Mixologist & Innovations, Cocktails & Dreams, Mumbai & Bar Solutions LLP. The session was open for all age groups irrespective of gender, area of services & Institution. The webinar was conducted via medium of ‘Google Meet.’ The webinar started by introducing the guest speaker by the student of TYHS (Ashley Pereira). Later on Mr. Ajinkya started his session by explaining the basic idea about a bartender and a mixologist. He talked about his personal journey in the hospitality industry, the highs and lows what he faced during his initial years of working and what he learned in his tenure and how he acquired and furnish his skills. The session then moved to the actual practical knowledge about bartending and the current trends which has been followed in the industry. The students get the chance to see the actual making of few cocktails prepared by Ajinkya and how each and every ingredients plays a very vital role in a drinks which we serve to a guest. He also talked elements of a drink or an ingredient which includes flavour, presence of oil & bitterness in a particular ingredient. He also explained the importance of ice and its various types which are been used in the beverage sectors. He also talked about the molecular mixology and usage of liquid nitrogen, dry ice, siphon gun, flavour blaster, smoke machine, etc. in the making of drinks as well as for the presentation of it. As the session was continuing various students raised their questions and doubts in front of Mr. Ajinkya and he answered the questions and cleared all the doubts of students with great examples in a very effective manner. It was very informative discussion going through between the speaker and the students while demonstrating cocktails.At the end of the session there was a questionnaire prepared by students and Ajinkya answered them in a very professional way. At last in the honour of our guest speaker Mr. Ajinkya Chaughule a ‘Vote of Thanks’ was given by the student of TYHS (Ranjan Sharma) and hence a very informative session came to an END…!!!!

Creating Application using python

Creating Application using python Department of B.Sc. (I.T.) had organized a webinar on “Creating Application using python” 16th January, 2021. The webinar was organised for S.Y. B.Sc. (I.T.) and T.Y. B.Sc. (I.T.) students to help them understand python and how to create mobile and web applications. The resource person for this webinar was Mr. Zulfikar Chamdawala who is a programmer/Analyst in Cognizant and the webinar coordinator was Mrs. Vandana Dubey. More than 80 students have attended the webinar and good knowledge was shared by our guest speaker.

Webinar on “Professional Email Etiquette”

Webinar on “Professional Email Etiquette” The B.A. Department organised a Webinar on “Professional Email Etiquette” on 16th January, 2021 from 11:30a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In today’s digitalized world, the knowledge and practise of professional emails is essential. Emails that adhere to etiquette are more direct and convey the message quickly. The session began with Ms. Upasana Adwa, faculty of Arts Department welcoming the participants and introducing the resource person. The resourse person, Ms. Sarah Roy, the faculty of Arts Department conducted the webinar using the online platform Google Meet. After the session, Dr. Ravi Shankar Mishra, Head of the Department of Arts invited the students for a brief session of questions form the participants. The event was attended by 76 participants. The event recieved a positive feedback from the participants. E-Certificate were awarded to the participants.

World AIDS Day Awareness Programme

World AIDS Day Awareness Programme Date: 1st December, 2020Activity: HIV/ AIDS Awareness Programme (Online Mode)Participants: NSS Volunteers of SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHSTime: 4:00 pm to 5:00 pmPlace: St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Vevoor, Manor Road, Palghar(E), Dist: Palghar As per the directives received from University of Mumbai, NSS Cell, St. John Technical and Educational Campus has decided to observe with the theme 2020 i.e “Ending of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Resilience and Impact”The National Service Scheme Units of St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Palghar organized “ World AIDS Day ” on 1st December, 2020 from 4: 00 pm to 5:00 pm through online mode with active participation of NSS volunteers. At St. John Technical Campus, Palghar, 1st December 2020, was observed as World Aids Day. Dr. Anitha Chettiar, (Director Institute of Social Service, New Delhi) was invited as a chief guest for the event. She delivered relevant information about HIV / AIDS and spread awareness among all students about the difference between HIV and AIDS, symptoms, precautions to be taken, treatment and test to be done. Finally, the event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Aishwarya Bhangale, NSS volunteer of St. John College of Engineering and Management, Palghar. Indeed, it was a memorable day organized by NSS volunteers. St. John Technical campus always creates awareness among students about social consciousness and responsibility for the nation and societyin general.

Constitution Day Awareness Programme

Palghar As per the directives received from the University of Mumbai, NSS Cell, St. John Technical and Educational Campus has decided to observe Indian Constitution day and pledge taking programme..The National Service Scheme Units of St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Palghar observed and Celebrated “ Indian Constitution Day ” on 26th November 2020 from 4: 00 pm to 5:00 pm through online mode with active participation of NSS volunteers from all institutes across campus. Dr. Rambali Mourya from St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar was invited as a chief guest for the event. He delivered information about Indian Constitution, Articles and Fundamental rights to students. He also explained the objectives of Indian Constitution day celebration i.e. to acknowledge the contribution of the framers of the Constitution and to aggravate the people regarding the prominent values. Volunteers from the sister institutes of the campus participated in Online mode for the event. Finally, the event concluded with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Sachin Gawali, the NSS Programme officer of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar. It also imbibed in us reading of the Preamble to the Constitution which was an important part of the celebration and reaffirming our commitment to upholding its ideology.
