Webinar on “Health Benefits of Indian Herbs and Spice” St. John college of Humanities Science (Hospitality Department) had organised an webinar Health Benefits of Indian Herbs and Spice, on 4th November 2020. The speaker for the webinar was Ms Bhvani Swaminathan . Ms Bhavani explained in brief about the all herbs and spices and their role and medicinal uses. Ms Bhavani told us many information about the spices that we have not heard. For the webinar there were all the faculties of Hospitality Department and all the student of Fy, Sy, Ty students. At the last of the session there was the question answer session where Ms Bhavani gave all the answer to the students question and clear their doubts. One of the student from the Sy gave the vote of thanks to the speaker of the day and the webinar got over.

National Unity Day

National Unity Day Date: 31st October 2020Activity: National Unity Day Celebration (Online Mode)Time: 10:45a.m. To 11: 00 a.m.Participants: NSS Volunteers of SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHS Place: St. John Technical Campus, Vevoor, Manor Road, Palghar (East), Dist. Palghar The National Service Scheme Unit of St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Palghar organized “National Unity Day” on 31st October 2020 between 10: 45 am to 11: 00 am at the Campus. 31st October 2020 is a great day in the Indian history as it is the birth anniversary of our great national leader, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who led the people and played a major role in the attainment of freedom for our nation. At St. John Technical Campus, Palghar, we celebrated this day with an Rashtriya Ekta Diwas event. Dr. G.V. Mulgund, Principal, St. John College of Engineering and Management, Palghar and Some Senior Faculty Members of all the departments of Engineering attended the programme physically with maintaining social distancing. All students from different Institutes of the Campus also participated in the event through online mode on google meet. We guided all Dignitaries, Staff and Students in the taking of National Unity Pledge online. Finally, the event concluded with the vote of thanks. This celebration imbibed in us to “provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.”

Vigilance Awareness Programme

Vigilance Awareness Programme Date: 27/10/ 2020 and 31st October 2020Activity: Vigilance Awareness Programme (Online Mode)Participants: NSS Volunteers of SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHSTime: 10:30 a.m. To 11:00 a.m.Place: St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Vevoor, Manor Road, Palghar (East), Dist. Palghar The Central Vigilance Comission (CVC) has decided to observe Vigilance Awareness week from 27th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020 on the theme “vigilance India Prosperous India (Satark Bharat Samridh Bharat) as per the direction received from Ministry of youth affairs and sports, Government of India. The National Service Scheme Unit of St. John Technical and Educational Campus, Palghar organized and Celebrated “Vigilance Awareness week” online on 27th October 2020 between 10:30 to 11: 00 am with 98 NSS Volunteers.On 31st October 2020 10 Teaching Staff also Participated offline for the event maintaining Social distancing at work place. All NSS Volunteers took an oath of Integration Pledge of Vigilance awareness week which was given by the Central Vigilance Commission. Finally, the event concluded with the vote of thanks. Indeed, it was a memorable day celebrated and it also taught us the motto of “Vigilant India Prosperous India (Satark Bharat Samridh Bharat).

Webinar on “CHEFS JOURNEY”

Webinar on “CHEFS JOURNEY” 20th October is celebrated as International chefs days by conducting various events throughout the world.SJCHS Hospitality Studies department organised Chefs Journey webinar by calling own alumnus Chef Pratik Patil. A WEBINAR was conducted to enhance students knowledge about the chef profession. The webinar started on time with lots of enthusiasm on google meet platform. Mr Swapneel Shirsat introduced guest speaker, Mr Pratik Patil. 73 students participated from FY, SY & TY & all faculties from hospitality studies. Chef Pratik shared his achievements and knowledge about the industry which motivated students to become a successful chef in their life. He also informed students about work ethics at the workspace. Chef Pratik shared his Journey to become Dcdp at Carnival cruise line with his successes mantra. A question and answer session was started from 1:10 PM and Webinar ended at 1:30 Pm with thanksgiving by students and Mr.Swapneel Shirsat.

Webinar on “World Bread Day”

Webinar on “World Bread Day” St. John college of Humanities and Sciences ( Hospitality Studies ) had arranged a webinar on World Bread Day (16 October 2020). It was conducted for all the years’ students of Hospitality Studies. The speaker for the webinar were Chef Bhavna Acharekr ( D’lecta Food Company)Chef Kunal Rathod On the day of Webinar the topic was the “Journey Of the Bread” where Chef Bhavna explain the history of the bread and the evolution of the bread and how the bread got its journey from the beginning. On the second hand Chef Kunal explained us all about modern age and the emerging trends in bakery. How the modernization took place in the bakery and how the bread develop it new forms. Chef Kunal Shows us various photo of different breads and show piece of the bread. It was very interesting webinar which was held at the last of the webinar there was the question answer session where student asked the question and Chef Bhavna and Chef Kunal give the answer of the same .Mr Rajan Sharma (SYHS) gave a vote of thanks to the speaker of the day.
