SJCHS Organizes Faculty Development Programme on Innovative Pedagogy

St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (Autonomous) successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme on *Innovative Pedagogy* on 11th June 2026 at the 6th Floor Event Hall. The programme aimed to enhance teaching practices and encourage educators to adopt innovative, engaging, and student-centred approaches in the classroom.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Faculty Development Programme Coordinator Mr. Ameer S. Shaikh, who introduced the first resource person, Dr. Alwyn D’Sa. The resource person was felicitated by the Principal, Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob. Through an engaging session on storytelling as a pedagogical tool, Dr. Alwyn D’Sa highlighted the importance of creativity, communication, empathy, and meaningful teacher-student interaction in enhancing the learning experience.

The second session began with a welcome address by Ms. Vidhi Dhani, who introduced the second resource person, Dr. Chandan Chavdi. Following his felicitation by Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob, Dr. Chandan Chavdi conducted an interactive session on innovative teaching methodologies. He introduced faculty members to a range of learner-centred approaches, including Think–Pair–Share, Flipped Classroom, Gamification, Problem-Based Learning, Experiential Learning, Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Learning, Design Thinking, Collaborative Learning, and several other contemporary pedagogical practices.

The programme provided valuable insights into innovative teaching strategies and inspired educators to create more engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences for students.
