A Webinar on “A Journey in Housekeeping” The Department of B.Sc. (Hospitality Studies) of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar had organised a guest lecture on Rooms Division Management “A Journey in Housekeeping” in the current hospitality industry. Students of First Year, Second Year and Third Year of Hospitality Studies attended the webinar. The webinar commenced with the introduction of Ms. Aysha Sehgal Kulkarni, Executive Housekeeper, Hilton Mumbai International Airport, Mumbai by Mr. Nelson Pereira (Faculty of HS). The motive behind conducting this webinar was to introduce the basic departmental work of the housekeeping department in the current pandemic scenario. The webinar started with a keynote on Job description. Ms. Kulkarni introduced the working style and showcased processes such as Check-in, Check-out, Room Blocking, etc. A thank you speech was given by Mr. Vishnuvardhan Molige (T.Y. B.Sc. HS) at the end of the session.

Report on the webinar session how to create a mobile app on Glide A webinar entitled “ A webinar on how to create a mobile app on Glide” was conducted by Literary Club on December 11, 2021 from 11:15 am to 12:15 PM. The resource person for the session was Ms. Deepika Nadar. The session was open for all the students of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences. The session covered all the necessary points on how to create a mobile app on glide. In total more than 100 students attended the session. At the end, feedback form was filled up by the students. Outcome:All the participants cleared their concept on making a mobile app on Glide platform.The session developed the confidence level of the students for creating any app.It has developed awareness among the students on various digital tools available for app development.

A Webinar on Eye for detail in Housekeeping The Department of B.Sc. (Hospitality Studies) of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar had organised a guest lecture on Rooms Division Management “Eye for detail in Housekeeping” in the current hospitality industry. Students of First Year, Second Year and Third Year of Hospitality Studies attended the webinar.Eye for detail House-keeper world wide known for their eye for detail.This term means that a person has a sharp eye to detect things that are not quite right. The webinar commenced with the introduction of Ms. Shital Dhole, Deputy Housekeeper from Taj Group of Hotels by Mr. Vishnuvardhan Molige (TYHS).The motive behind conducting this webinar was to introduce the basic departmental work of the housekeeping department in the current pandemic scenario. The webinar started with a keynote on eye for detail in housekeeping, working environment, staffing. Ms. Dhole introduced the working style and chemicals used in hotels during the pandemic, etc. A thank you speech was given by Mr. Gurjeet Singh Sokhi (TYHS) at the end of the session.

Webinar on Vocabulary Building A webinar entitled ‘ Vocabulary Building’ was organized by the Literary Club of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar, Maharashtra on September 25, 2021. Dr. Vijay Songire introduced the resource person in the beginning. In the beginning the speaker highlighted the significance of Vocabulary building in language learning. The session covered essential aspects of vocabulary building. During the session online the speaker checked vocabulary strengths of the students through 2 different exercises. The students solved the exercise and the score was also released. The students enjoyed the session. The guidelines were given at the end to improve vocabulary. Meanwhile, the students interacted with the speaker. Dr. Vijay Songire extended the vote of thanks at last. Outcome of the Session The students understood different types of words They developed their understanding towards the concept of word power.
