Sphoorti 2025 with the theme From Our Roots We Rise was celebrated on 30th and 31st of July in St. John College of Humanities and Science. It was a vibrant and engaging two-day intercollegiate event organized by the Department of Arts in collaboration with the Department of Hospitality Studies. The event brought together students from various colleges, fostering creativity, collaboration, and cultural celebration.There was a footfall of approximately 300 students, out of which 251 students from 16 junior colleges and schools participated in the various competitive events. The event was a grand success, offering a platform for talent and enthusiasm to shine.

Workshop held on Mastering Business Communication and Public Speaking

The Training and placement cell had organized a workshop on the topic “Mastering Business Communication and Public Speaking” on 26th July, 2025, Saturday. The aim of the workshop was to strengthen students’ ability to communicate effectively in professional environments by focusing on both verbal and written communication, along with public speaking skills that are essential for success in the hospitality and service industry. The primary objective was to develop students’ confidence and competence in business communication through hands-on practice, real-time feedback, and exposure to structured speaking techniques. The workshop also aimed to improve their ability to present ideas clearly, participate actively in discussions, and express themselves with professionalism and clarity.

Programme on IT Placement Guide

The Department of BSc. IT/CS/DS had organised a session based on prep talk for the students of Third Year Bsc IT/CS titled “IT Placement Guide”. This session was conducted by an industry professional “Mr. Diwakar Shah”. It aimed to enhance the technical knowledge of the students coupled with a preparation guide for industry placements. It also emphasized on the need to develop skills that are relevant to the industry expectations and highlighted the importance of developing the foundational skills required to crack technical interviews too.

Bank Nationalisation Day was celebrated with intercollegiate competitions.

As an Academic & Co-curricular activity A National Science Day Celebrated with the name SciConnect 2026 on 8/02/2026 from 09:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. by epartment of Science in Classrooms, Laboratories & Event Hall, 3rd Floor in St. John College of Humanities and Sciences. Beneficiaries of this programme were Junior College, Undergraduate, and students from nearby colleges.
