Workshop on Arduino Simulation using Tinkercad A Workshop on Arduino Simulation using Tinkercad was organized by the department of B.Sc.(I.T) on 13th March 2021. The total 62 students have participated from S.Y. and T.Y. B.Sc. (I.T.).The Workshop commenced with the introduction of embedded system and Microprocessor architecture and explained the objectives and importance of the workshop. The motive behind conducting this seminar was to introduce the basic idea about Arduino and using Arduino how students can able to create thousands of different projects and applications. The Arduino is an open-source prototyping platform in electronics based on easy-to-use hardware and software flexible enough for advanced users. It runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. The session started with keynote description on Arduino board and then simulation on Arduino using Tinkercad application by Mr. Bibin Mathews, (M.Tech, EXTC). The session was conducted for two hours. It provided the insights of how students use Arduino board to build low cost scientific instruments, to prove chemistry and physics principles, or to get started with programming and robotics.Arduino is a microcontroller based prototyping board which can be used in developing digital devices that can read inputs like finger on a button, touch on a screen, light on a sensor etc. and turning it in to output like switching on an LED, rotating a motor, playing songs through a speaker etc .Participants were indeed curious to provide various solutions.

Webinar on How to create a Blog The Literary club of St. John college of Humanities and sciences organised a Webinar on “How to create a Blog” on 1st March, 2021 from 12:00p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The session began with Ms. Sarah Roy, faculty of Arts Department welcoming the participants and introducing the resource person. The resource person, Ms. Deepika Nadar, the faculty of IT Department conducted the webinar using the online platform Google Meet. The webinar started with brief introduction on blog, gave some ideas on what topic blog can be created also discussed about importance of blogging in today’s digital world. Further the session continued by demonstrating How to create a blog using blogger.com by creating a new blog and publish the post in the blog. After the session was completed, Q&A session began. Many participants expressed their views and asked questions and received satisfactory answers. The event received a positive feedback from the participants that the session was very useful and they are interested in creating their own blog. Webinar on International Mother Language Day Literary Club organised a Webinar on “International Mother Language Day” on 2Oth February 2021 from 12 pm to 1 pm. International Mother Language Day is observed worldwide on 21 February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism. he idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. It was approved at the 1999 UNESCO General Conference and has been observed throughout the world since 2000. The theme set by UNESCO of the 2021 International Mother Language Day, “Fostering multilingualism for inclusion in education and society,” recognizes that languages and multilingualism can advance inclusion, and the Sustainable Development Goals’ focus on leaving no one behind. The session began with Ms. Sarah Roy, Co-ordinator of Literary Club welcoming the participants and introducing the resource person. The guest speaker was Ms. Elena Sajan, faculty of St. Thomas College, Ranni in Kerala. The session was attended by students of various departments of the college and received a positive response. The total participants were 110. The session was attended by participants in Google Meet and YouTube Live. The session ended with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Vijay Songire.

Webinar on How to use and Participate Responsibly on Virtual Platforms St. John Technical and Educational Campus – NSS units of SJCHS, SJCEM, SJIPR organized webinar on how to use and participate responsibly on Virtual Platforms on 6th February 2021, at 4:00 to 5:00 pm. The objective of this session was to create awareness among all the students about Basic Etiquettes, Behaviour, Technical Awareness while attending online lectures. Ms. Shraddha More (Asst. Prof. Department of Information Technology) was the resource person for the event. The introduction speech was given by Ms. Rushika Tevar, S.Y.BMS NSS Volunteer of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences. Ms.Shraddha More gave brief introduction on importance of online lectures after Covid 19 pandemic situation, challenges faced by faculty and students, online basic etiquette to all volunteers while attending online classes, lectures on various online platforms like Google meet and Zoom. She even informed students how to use Chat box, Overall Behaviour, different types of difficulties of students about online classes and how to overcome it. She also explained the different types of Interview etiquettes while attending interviews on virtual platforms, Responsive participants, Presentation, Communication skills, Body language, Online video Interview, Dos and Dont’s while attending interviews. 104 students including NSS and Non – NSS volunteers attended session online via Google meet and You tube live. Students from University of Mumbai and other NSS units also participated on You tube live. The session was interactive and many queries were asked by the students to the resource person. Many students appreciated the initiative and gave a positive feedback and requested to conduct such programmes more often. The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Showkiya Khan, S.Y.B. St. John Technical and Educational Campus Always organized innovative and technical based programmes to develop skills of the students.
