world tourism day​

The students of St. John College of Humanities & Sciences, Department of Hotel Management organised an event “World Tourism Day” on the 27th of September 2019. The event was held under the Canopy in front of Aldel Restaurant. The main aim of this event was to give an experience of different Indian Regional Cuisine to the students and faculty of the Campus at a very reasonable rate.

The event was inaugurated at 12 noon by Dr. Savita Tauro, Principal of Pharmacy College and Dy.Campus Director by cutting the ribbon. All the other dignitaries like Mr.V.R.Patil, HR Manager, Mr.Karunakar Shetty, General Manager, Mr. Govind Asne, I/C Principal, Sr.Hilda, Administrator and all the staff and students of the College were present to witness the inaugural ceremony. Ranjan Sharma, student of HS department spoke about Tourism Industry and its importance in the life of Hotel Management students. Stalls were opened with the first entry of the dignitiaries and the service was continued till 2.30 pm.

Menu Set-Up:

the show with the help of other faculty members and HS students.
The menu was divided into four parts as per the region. Four
stalls were put up under the canopy to display the menu.

The menu’s were displayed as follows:
1. North Indian Menu – This menu was named as Bhaiyaji ka Dhaba. This menu contained thandai, balusahi and litti and choka.
2. South Indian Menu – named as Chennai Express. This menu was served with chana dal, payasam, neer dosa, chicken and podi idli.

3. Maharashtrian Menu – named as Aamchi Marathi. This menu included coconut burfi (Narlachi wadi), Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian gravy, wada and kokam sharbat.

4. Gujarathi Menu – named as Taste the Gujarath. This menu was offered with mungdal kichidi, Undhiyo, patra and basundi.
It was observed by the management that every stall decoration was matching with the place and the menu was prepared accordingly. Each and every stall put up their best to prepare the variety and tasty food. The management appreciated the hard efforts of the staff and students of Hotel management. This event helped the students to plan, organize and execute the man power and the capital. A good number of staff and students of other institutes also participated and tasted the food and expressed their appreciation. Finally the HS students and staff were happy to wind up the tourism day successfully.
