Quiz Competition (Indian Constitution)

Quiz Competition (Indian Constitution) In order to develop competitive spirit and aptitude related to constitution, Department of Commerce has organized Quiz Competition on 12th December,2019 on the topic “Indian Constitution”. Competition was held on 4th floor of SJCHS Bldg. In all 60 students from different courses has been participated in the competition.Students from different courses like SYB.COM / FYBMS/SYBMS/FYBAF/SYBAF/TYBAF/SYBBI/TYBBI has been participated in the competition. Quiz competition are taken in offline mode. Participants are given question paper where MCQ type questions ares given. Answers of participants are assessed by faculties in charge of the programme and merit list has been prepared. Marking system for the quiz competition was 2 marks for right answer and deduction of 0.5 marks for wrong answers. Merit list has been prepared accordingly. Top three scorer got First, Second and Third prizes.

Research Activities by students “AVISHKAR”

Research Activities by students “AVISHKAR” Governor of Maharashtra, Shri. S.M. Krishna has initiated a novel inter university research project competition named ‘AVISHKAR’ in the year 2006. The prime objectives of AVISHKAR are to inculcate research culture among students and to encourage original and novel thinking. Five groups of students participated with their projects in the undergraduate category at District level on 7/12/19 under the guidance of Dr. Upma Paliwal. Three projects have won at the district level and qualify for the Final round of 14th Inter-Collegiate Avishkar Research Convention 2019-20. The names of the winning projects are: Delivery linkage channel for self help group in Palghar. To enhance the parking space availing possibilities in an easy way. Gas Automation system.

The Constitution Day on 26/11/2019

The Constitution Day on 26/11/2019 Department of Commerce, SJCHS, organises seminar on “Constitution Day” on 26th November, 2019. Seminar was conducted by Dr. Rambali R. Maurya, Assistant Professor, SJCHS on Fifth floor of SJCHS Bldg. In the seminar 55 students were present and took benefit of this seminar. This day is celebrated every year on 26 November in the country. On this special day Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of the Constitution, is remembered. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India. It came into force on 26 January 1950. It was declared by the government of India on 19 November 2015 to celebrate 26 November as Constitution Day every year. The announcement was made while laying the foundation stone of Ambedkar’s Statue of Equality Memorial. In Seminar speaker has explained various provisions of the constitutions with special reference to fundamental duties given under Article 51A.

Elocution Competition

Elocution Competition Literary Club of St. John College of Humanities & Sciences organized an Elocution Competition in English, Hindi and Marathi for the students of all the courses of the college. The objective of this competition was to encourage students to express their awareness about the contemporary issues of the Indian society and develop confidence in public speaking. The students were required to prepare their speeches for 3-4 minutes on the topics which were given to them in advance. The topics were:Topics :English If I were the Prime Minister of India Status of Women in India Technology; Boon or Bane for human life? Hindi अगर मैं भारत का प्रधानमंत्री होता… भारतीय महिलाओं की सामाजिक स्थिति टेक्नोलॉजी-मानव जीवन के लिए वरदान या अभिशाप Marathi मी भारताचा पंतप्रधान झालो तर… भारतीय समाजातील स्त्रीयांचे स्थान मानवी जीवनात आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञान – वरदान की शाप Sister Hilda Albuquerque, Administrative Head, appreciated all contestants for their interests and participation. She reiterated that such events should be held more so often. There were total 22 contestants: 15 in English, 3 in Hindi and 4 in Marathi. BYB(Build Your Brand)

BYB(Build Your Brand) A seminar on BYB (Build Your Brand) was organized by the department of B.Sc.(I.T) on 12th November 2019 in St. John College of Humanities and Sciences for FYBSc (I.T) and SYBSc (I.T). The seminar commenced by Mrs. Vandana Dubey (Bsc I.T) with the objectives and importance of the workshop. The motive behind conducting this seminar was to introduce the basic idea about BYB (Build Your Brand). It is said by someone that “our personal brand is what people say about you when you are not in the room– remember that.” The session was conducted for one hours explaining how to make their e-portfolio and resume on MIS. A demo session was taken to teach them how to make their own resume. Students then actively participated in making their CV.
