Dated on 09th February 2026, St. John College of Humanities and Sciences Autonomous had participated in Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension’s 24th Annual Festival titled “UDAAN-The Flight of Extension” held at KES Shroff college of Arts and Commerce, Kandivali. DLLE Coordinator Ms. Vaishnavi Sankhe and extension work Teacher Ms. Nisha Yadav along with 20 students had attended the festival.

The Event started with welcoming of participants in the event hall. The Street play Competition began at 10 am followed by other activities like Creative Writing, Poster Making Competition, Elocution, etc. Students of SJCHS gave an outstanding performance on topic “Corruption” and showcased their acting skills and conveyed the social message through a street play, two students prepared a poster on theme Constitution of India and showcased their artistic skills and creativity in Poster making competition. One student participated in Elocution competition and spoke about the Constitution of India. Judges for Street play were Mr. Anand Shirke, Actor in Marathi TV industry and Ms. Geeta.

The inauguration was held at 11 am in the Pancholia Hall of the college followed by University Song at 11:15 am. Dr. Baliram Gaikwad Director of DLLE of University of Mumbai addressed the students by presenting a welcome note and wished them for their future endeavors. Other dignitaries like Dr. Kunal Jadhav, Dr. Lili Bhushan, Principal of Shroff college, and Mr. Arun Chandane were also present on stage who inaugurated the event by lightning the auspicious lamp followed by the Saraswati Vandana. The results were announced at 03:30 pm followed by prize distribution and certificate distribution.

St. John College of Humanities and Sciences secured the Consolation prize in Street Play and Second prize in Elocution competition. The program came to an end after a Goodbye note at 04:30 pm followed by photo session.
