National Chemistry Week – ChemConnect 2026 Celebrated

The Department of B.Sc. at St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (Autonomous), Palghar, organised National Chemistry Week – ChemConnect 2026 from 4th to 8th August 2026 through a hybrid mode, with the objective of promoting scientific curiosity, laboratory safety awareness and experiential learning. The event was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Manjiri R. Zimbar (Faculty In-charge), with the participation of faculty members from the Department of B.Sc.

The programme featured hands-on laboratory sessions for St. John Junior College (SJJC) Science students from 4th to 7th August, offering practical exposure to Chemistry, Botany and Physics. An intercollegiate online Chemistry Quiz for F.Y.B.Sc., S.Y.B.Sc. and T.Y.B.Sc. students received 149 registered submissions. A Lab Safety Reel Competition, themed “Safety First: Every Experiment Begins with Care,” encouraged students to creatively highlight essential laboratory safety protocols.

With over 200 participants across practical sessions, online quiz and media entries, ChemConnect 2026 successfully strengthened practical knowledge, promoted laboratory safety and fostered scientific learning and collaboration among junior and undergraduate students.
