Inspiring Session on Skill Development and Career Growth
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, in association with its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) partner, the All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG), organized an engaging session on “Skill Development and Career Growth” on 25th June 2026 at the College Event Hall.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Leela Sonawane, In-charge, Skill Development Project, AIILSG, and was attended by students of SYBCOM, SYBBI, SYBFM, SYBMS, and SYBAF. The programme commenced with a welcome by the compere, followed by the National Anthem, the Universal Peace Prayer, and the felicitation of the resource person by the Principal.
Addressing the students, Mrs. Leela Sonawane highlighted the growing importance of industry-relevant skills, certifications, internships, and lifelong learning alongside academic qualifications. She introduced the concepts of SMART Goals and the KASH Model (Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, and Habits), encouraging students to adopt a goal-oriented approach and cultivate essential personal and professional qualities for career success.
A motivational video emphasizing the importance of taking the first step towards one’s dreams inspired the audience and reinforced the message of confidence, initiative, and perseverance. The interactive session provided students with valuable insights into career planning, employability, and skill enhancement.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the IQAC Coordinator Dr. Priya Chaurasiya, who expressed gratitude to Mrs. Leela Sonawane, the Principal, the organizing team, faculty members, and students for contributing to the success of the event.
The session proved to be highly informative and motivating, inspiring students to continuously develop their skills and prepare confidently for successful careers.
