Annual Day 2019

Annual Day 2019 St. John Technical and Educational Campus celebrated its Eleventh Annual Fest on 12th January 2019 with great enthusiasm and zeal. Entire Campus participated wholeheartedly towards the success of this grand event. The Annual Day 2019 programme was woven around the theme ‘An Odyssey of Life’ meaning the Journey of Life, which depicted the seven stages of life from childhood to old age. The theme was presented meticulously by the superb instincts and brilliant acts of the talented students of St. John Technical and Educational Campus with breathtaking performances and entertaining the audience with hilarious laughter and joy to their hearts content. Rev. Fr. Cleophas Fernandes, Parish Priest, St. Pius X Church, Mulund presided over the function and Mr. Sambhaji Adkune Deputy Collector, Palghar District was the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Trustees of Aldel Education Trust, Mr. Albert W. D’souza, Chairman, Mrs. Elvina D’souza, Secretary, Mrs. Elaine D’souza Buthello, Treasurer, Mr. Reuben Buthello, Member along with Dr. Savita Tauro, Deputy Campus Director, St. John Technical and Educational Campus and Principal, St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research, Dr. G. V. Mulgund, Principal, St. John College of Engineering and Management, Dr. B.S. Ajitkumar, Principal, St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Mr. Vidyadhar Patil, HR Manager and Dean of Management Studies, Mr. Umesh Kantute, Principal, St John Polytechnic, and Mr. Vikram Sinh Joshi, Principal, St. John Junior College. Chairman, Mr. Albert W. D’souza extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries present. He acknowledged the efforts of the students and thanked the esteemed guest for their precious time from the busy schedule to attend the annual function. President of the function, Rev. Fr. Cleophas Fernandes, Parish Priest, St. Pius X Church, Mulund was overwhelmed with the students performances, scenic beauty of the campus and addressed the gathering by highlighting the importance of ethics and values in Professional Careers. He appreciated the Discipline on Campus. Deputy Collector, General Administration Department, Palghar District, Mr. Sambhaji Adkune graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He addressed the gathering by highlighting the tremendous potential of the Local Palghar Students and was all praise for the show. He congratulated St. John Technical and Educational Campus for taking such an edifying topic An ODYSSEY OF LIFE. He too was impressed with the students performances at the Cultural as well as Academic front. The Annual Prize Distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the institute. Chairman, Mr. Albert W. D’souza congratulated all the Institutions for the excellent Academic Performance in the Academic Year 2017-18 at the Institute as well as University level Examinations. Students of the Campus were felicitated for their extra-ordinary Academic performances at the University level and for bringing additional feathers to the Success of the St. John Technical and Educational Campus. At the same time the Annual Magazines of the respective Institutes Spectrum, Coalesce, Scintilla and Prism were released at the hands of the Chief Guest and President of the function. The event closed with a grand DJ celebration. It was indeed a spectacular display of talent and fervor.

ENTHUSIA – 2019

ENTHUSIA – 2019 A two day Inter-Collegiate Youth Fest ‘Enthusia 2019’ was organised by St. John College of Humanities and Sciences at the college premises on 10th and 11th January 2019. This year, we have  introduced a new concept of lucky draw. The first and the second prize were Maestro Scooty and Samsung Smartphone. The mega event was inaugurated by Dr. Savita Tauro, Deputy Campus Director & Principal, St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research and was presided over by many other eminent personalities following the formal inauguration. Various academic, cultural and sports events were held by the names Ad Mad, Blind Coding, Counter strike, Elocution, Just-a-Minute, Salad and Mocktails, Street Play, Dance, Singing, On spot photography, Face painting, Hairstyle, Musically, Monoact, Comedy store, Shayari Recitation, Rangoli, Mehendi, Tug-of-war, Mr. & Miss Enthusia. This inter-collegiate youth Fest was a mega event wherein 172 participants from 09 colleges participated. ‘Enthusia-2019’ successfully ended with the prize distribution ceremony, wherein all the winners and participants were rewarded for their days of hard work and diligence by the Chief Guest of the day Mr. Yogesh Chavan, Additional SP, Palghar. Mr. Yogesh Chavan also appreciated the commendable efforts and the meticulous planning of the faculties and students.

ODESSEY – A JOURNEY OF LEARNING

ODESSEY – A JOURNEY OF LEARNING Staff welfare and development committee is a newly formed body whose focus is to ensure continuous learning and enhancement of the staff through creative and innovative programs. The committee was formed in October 2018.So far under the program of Odyssey – A journey of Learning a teachers’ appreciation activity was conducted. The experienced and newly joined faculty gave 20 minutes lectures on their preferred topic. Every teacher displayed their strengths and ideas they use in classroom teaching. Everyone present; learnt a great deal about different teaching methods, means for classroom management and ways to make their lectures more engaging and enhancing for the students. All the presenters were applauded for their creative teaching methods and management skills. They also got critical feedback from their peers on their areas of improvement. It was a learning experience for everyone.

Khadi Fest

Khadi Fest The Women Development Cell organized a Khadi exhibition cum sale of Khadi Garments on 12/10/2018 to create an awareness about Khadi among students. Khadi was always promoted by Gandhi Ji for self reliance and self employment. Students gained knowledge about Khadi and it’s relevance with the Freedom Movement. How Gandhi Ji successfully ran the Swadeshi movement by weaving Khadi on Charkha and encouraged to boycott polyester. Gandhiji also always promoted self empowerment of women. The women from rural areas mainly weave the Khadi cloth. The promotion of Khadi empowers women as well. The Swadeshi movement also has it’s relevance in even today’s scenario. The Prime minister Shri. Narendra Modi promotes “Make in India” A large variety of Khadi Garments were exhibited in the Khadi Fest, by Maharashtra Khadi Bhandar which was liked and bought in large quantity by the Faculties, Students and Admin Staff of Aldel Education trust. The parents of Students also visited the Fest and appreciated the efforts. The students got a sales training at the stalls and enjoyed the fest. The Khadi fest remained a successful event with overwhelming response..

Clothes Distribution Drive

Clothes Distribution Drive Programme In-charge: Prof. Maqsood Memon (NSS Programme Officer, SJCHS), Mr. Sachin Urade (NSS Programme Officer, SJCEM) St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar – NSS Unit in association with Palghar cloth bank took an initiative and organized NSS Clothes Collection Drive at St.John Technical Campus, Palghar. The Drive duration was from 11th October to 17th October 2018.The purpose of this activity is to provide clothes to the needy and poor Tribal Children, Families nearby adopted village Dastooripda by St.John College of Humanities and Sciences (SJCHS). The NSS Volunteers started this activity with the daily follow up in all institutes of St.John Technical Campus.Volunteers kept boxes near the entrances of all the institutes with catchy note/ slogan “ Donate Clothes – for the poor and needy ”. The boxes were donated by Palghar Cloth Bank.There was overwhelming response from Teaching, Non – Teaching staff and students in the St.John Technical Campus. Volunteers took sincere efforts in collecting all the clothes and segregated them as per age groups. On 20thOctober, 2018 NSS Volunteers of SJCHS – NSS unit conducted the said drive at adopted village Dastooripada.The Drive was started with the introductory speech given by Mr. Sachin Urade. Thus totally 10 volunteers actively participated in this Drive. The students were very enthusiastic about the drive as they were happy after experiencing the cheerful and happy faces of the children in tribal community.The villagers accepted all the clothes without any grudging which were distributed by NSS Volunteers. On the whole, the drive was very fruitful for the villagers. As a result, they appeared very much positive and supportive about the programme when they witnessed sympathy and painstaking efforts for tribal children. They also thanked and appreciated all the NSS Volunteers and Programme officer for taking the initiative in these regards and the Concern of SJCHS-NSS unit for the villagers.
