Enthusia 2020

Enthusia 2020 The annual intercollegiate event ‘Enthusia- The Youth Fest’ was organised on 13th and 14th January 2020. The event comprised of 26 events that included speaking arts, performing arts, culinary skills, artistic skills and other talents. There were total 585 students, out of which 416 students belonged to other colleges and 169 students belonged to St. John college of Humanities and Sciences. The maximum participation was from SDSM college(103), followed by  N.B.Mehta College (90). Amongst other colleges that participated were St. Joseph College of Arts and Science, Viva Arts, Science and Commerce College, Katgara Polytechnic College, Yashwantrao Chapekar College, Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers, SSR College (Silvasa), SAS College, D.K. Patil College, P.L. Shroff College and other colleges from St. John Technical and Educational Campus such as St.John College of Engineering and Management, St.John College of Pharmacy and Research and St. John Junior College. The day one of the fest comprised of literary arts, culinary arts, speaking arts and performing arts. The lucrative event of the day was Box Cricket, where 25 teams participated making the event a grand success. The total number of students that participated in various events on that day were 488. The second day comprised of stage events comprising of dance, fashion designing and personality contest. The total number of students participating in various events that was 79. The signature event  Mr and Ms. Enthusia had total 23 students participants. The judge for the said event was Ms. Dhanshree Sankhe, Founder and Managing Director of Mr. & Miss Allure India, Founder and CEO of Allure Salons and Spa, columnist in Lokmat Newspaper. Mr. Krishna Sharma &Ms. Sanika Raut were crowned as Mr. & Ms. Enthusia. The top 5 male and female participants of this event were given wild card entry into ‘Mr. & Miss Allure India’ which is a national level pageant event. The fest was concluded with a valedictory function. The event started with a message from the honourable Chairman Sir’s invigorating message to the students. The chief guest for the same was Shri. Gaurav Singh (IPS), S.P of Palghar. He conducted an interactive session with students, where students sought guidance for their professional as well as personal queries. The ‘ Best College Award’, securing most number of prizes in various events was given to SDSM college. The ‘Best Contingency Leader Award’ was  given to Ms. Neha Urade from SDSM college, who displayed excellent communication and coordination skills and brought maximum participation to the event. The event was concluded with singing of National Anthem.

“Sante”- The BMS Fest

“Sante”- The BMS Fest The event focuses on developing and inculcating qualities of Entrepreneurship and Management. It also involves applications of theoretical concepts in virtual business scenario.Teams from each class of BMS showcase and market their products and services in the campus. This time Sante Fest was organized on 13th January 2020. This time there were 7 teams which participated in the event. Game Arena – FYBMS Gaming Garage – FYBMS Hot and Chill- SYBMS Grillacious – TYBMS Raone- SDSM Tasty Time- TYBMS Snack Jack – SYBMS Each Team was treated as a company. And this companies were assisted by BAF( Accounting and Finance) students to handle billing and accounting. Each third year BAF student was given one volunteer from First Year BAF. So that next year first year students will be aware about the functioning of the event.On the day of event, these very companies offer shares to public (campus students). There is a virtual Stock Exchange which functions in the campus during the event.Stock Exchange activities were handled by students from Second and Third Year of BBI (Banking And Insurance) and BAF.Actual Buying and Selling of shares took place during the period of the event. Each and every transaction of buying and selling were carefully recorded. Total turn over of the stock exchange stood at Rs. 9000.Success of any product or service depends upon customer satisfaction. Keeping this in mind, a dedicated desk was in place to collect customer feedback. Every customer had been given a coupon after the billing process is over at the respective team stalls. Customer had a choice to record feedback by putting this coupon in any one of the boxes ( Best, Good, Average) at the customer feedback desk. Three prizes were awarded to the teams in the categories of Best Product, Best Customer Feedback and Highest Revenue.Team Tasty Time from Third Year BMS won the Best Product prize . The same team won Best Customer Feedback prize. Team Grillacious from Third Year BMS won Highest Revenue prize. Total Sales of the event amounted to Rs. 21,515/- St John GST of 20 % was imposed on the total sales. The amount collected from tax was utilized to pay salaries of the accountants and stock exchange volunteers.

NSS 7 Days Residential Camp – 2020

NSS 7 Days Residential Camp – 2020 St. John Technical Campus – NSS units organized Books Donation drive, Gandhi Jayanti Rally, Health and Nutrition, Anti Tobacco Awareness activities on 28th Sept. 2019 at Bhendipada / Balshipada Village.Date: From 02.01.2020 To 08.01.2020Total Volunteers: 94 (SJCHS, SJCEM, MMS, SJIPR)Place: Brahman Pada, Kosbad, Dahanu.Programme Incharge: Mr. Sachin Gawali, Mr.Sachin Urade, Mrs. Shraddha More, Mr. Prashant Dalvi and Mr. Ajay Shirsath St. John Technical and Educational Campus (SJCHS, SJCEM, MMS SJIPR) National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit organized a 7 days Residential Camp from 2nd January, 2020 to 8th January, 2020 at Brahman Pada, Dongari Pada, Bhonar Pada of Kosbad and Dahanu areas. There were 94 students from St. John Technical Campus – selected from the NSS units of Humanities, Engineering, MMS, Pharmacy Institutes to set out for the 7-days camp in order to serve the society as a team and to make a difference in traditional and conservative thinking of residing rural community. The volunteers were instructed, guided & accompanied by Mr. Sachin Gawali, (NSS Programme Officer of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences), Mr. Sachin Urade, (NSS Programme officers, St. John College of Engineering and Management), Ms. Shraddha More and Mr. Ajay Shirsath (NSS Additional Programme officers, St. John College of Engineering and Management), Mr. Prashant Dalvi (NSS Additional Programme Officer of St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research). The camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mrs. Varsha Phatarpekar (Secretary, Aadivasi Sahaj Shikshan Pariwar).Following activities were scheduled and the students enthusiastically participated in all the activities:Inaugural session by Mrs. Varsha Phatarpekar (Secretary, Aadivasi Sahaj Shikshan Pariwar) on Social work and community upliftment of tribal women and children1) Child Trafficking Prevention session by Mr. Akshay Madhvi (Senior Case Worker, Transforming Lives Foundation, Mira Road)2) Motivational talk on “Self-confidence and Diligency” by Ms. Swati Kakara (Gold Medalist in Polo Sports Championship)3) Workshop on “Superstitions and its Misconceptions” conducted by Mr. Anna Kadlaskar (BARC Scientific Officer)4) Awareness and Poster display session on “Intoxication and its consequences” by Mr. Milind Patil (Programme Co-ordinator, Intoxication Association, Palghar District)5) Workshop on “Disaster Management Training Session” by Mr. Anil Gavit (Civil Defence Officer, Tarapur) & Mr. Nilesh Vaze ( Former Incident Controller Officer)6) Session on “Importance of Hand Wash and its Practical Demonstration” for Tribal children of Katela pada7) Nail cutting activity for Tribal children of Katela pada8) Bridge contruction at Naralipada9) Check-Dam Construction at Naralipada10) Skits performed on Social Issues of Save Girl Child, Generic vs. Branded Medicines, Malnutrition and Child Labour at Naralipada11) Road levelling and preparation of Irrigation system at Krishi Vigyan Kendre, Kosbad12) Clothes, Stationery, Snacks and Vaseline distribution at Katela pada13) Cultural Program for Tribal children of Katelapada village14) Grass cutting activity at Katelpada village15) Road construction at Katelpada village16) Farm Dam Construction at Katelpada village17) Health and Hygiene Awareness activity at Katelpada village18) Visit to Indian Agricultural Research Centre (Techniques of Farming) at Kosbad19) Cultural activities : Poster Competition, Ad Mad Show, Singing, Dancing, Treasure Hunt, Sports, Yoga, Running, Physical Exercises and NSS song recitation Every NSS Volunteer contributed whole – heartedly for the social cause of the camp i.e. to create awareness amongst the village folks on how to improve & change their standard of living and their thought process. Each and every event had a new challenge and a new excitement. The NSS volunteers made sure that they gave their best throughout the day. Similarly, cultural events added flavour to the camp activities which enhanced confidence, team work among the volunteers and gave them opportunities to showcase their hidden talents and explore new innovative ideas. Every activity began and ended with “NSS clap which led its emphasis on unity, fraternity and equality. St. John Technical & Educational Campus nurtures the ideology of unity and commitment towards the Society and the Nation . It is committed to take up initiative of being the change and motivating all the NSS Volunteers towards Social Awareness and outreach which is essential today for their overall development including moral values and thereby development of the Society.

Industrial Visit To Bangalore-Mysore

industrial visit to bangalore-mysore The students of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences accompanied by faculties headed to the”Bangalore-Mysore” in the month of December the destination waiting to be explored, discovered and enjoyed. Day-1 started with a great level of excitement which was clearly seen on the cheerful faces of all at the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station on 14th of December. All boarded Mumbai-Udyan Express and reached Bangalore next morning at 8:30 am. Day-2 started at  Bangalore and proceed to reach Mysore by luxury bus.3* Hotel Abode with mouthwatering, scrumptious lunch which satisfied hunger pangs. After the lunch, all headed to the Philomena Church which is famous. On the same day, students visited the Vrundavan Garden. The Garden was full of fountains and surrounded by greenary everywhere. The day ended with the Musical Fountain Show in the garden followed by wonderful delicious dinner at Mysore hotel. Day-3 was marked by a full day excursion to Mysore city. Students and Faculties explored Goddess CHAMUNDESHWARI temple.spent some time for local shopping.after lunch all are proceed to visit famous Mysore Palace. Everyone witnessed the historical place in the winter and back to Banglore city in the hotel to enjoy the D.J night followed by Delicious Dinner. Day-4 everyone got the opportunity to pay a visit to respective courses industries to learn the new technology trends in market which is currently required in the business.after coming back to hotel had lunch and finally proceed to visit museum and in the evening reached Bangalore station to board the train Udyan express at 8:45 pm and reached Mumbai station next day at night 8:00 pm The industrial tour came to an end on the 5th day, 18th Dec,2019 with abundant memories to be cherished for a lifetime. A total of 138 students from final year BBI, BAF, BMS, B.Com and B.Sc.(IT) along with 7 Teaching faculties went for the tour.
