Introduction: The Department of BMS, SJCHS, Palghar organized a Guest Lecture titled “Success Strategies: Pre-Exam Expert Talk for Future Managers” on 24th March 2026 for TYBMS Semester VI students. The session aimed to guide students in preparing effectively for their upcoming Mumbai University examinations.

Objectives of the Programme:
• To provide expert guidance on exam preparation strategies
• To enhance conceptual clarity among students
• To improve answer-writing and presentation skills
• To build confidence and reduce exam-related stress
• To familiarize students with the Mumbai University examination pattern

Resource Person: The session was conducted by Dr. Gauri Datir, Vice-Principal of P.L. Shroff College, Chinchani. She shared her expertise and practical insights on effective exam preparation techniques.

Highlights of the Session: The lecture covered a wide range of important exam strategies, including:
● Understanding the Mumbai University question paper pattern and marking scheme
● Structuring answers effectively with proper introduction, body, and conclusion 
● Improving presentation through headings, bullet points, and diagrams
● Time management strategies during examinations
● Smart study techniques such as revision planning, focusing on key topics, and solving past question papers 
● Strategies to attempt maximum questions accurately 
● Common mistakes to avoid in examinations 
● Techniques to manage exam stress and maintain confidence 
● Special emphasis was given to the “30:70 preparation approach”, where students were advised to: 
● Focus 30% on conceptual understanding 
● Allocate 70% effort towards practice, revision, and presentation 

Learning Outcomes:
● Students gained clarity on how to approach examinations strategically 
● Improved understanding of answer-writing techniques 
● Enhanced awareness about time management and presentation skills 
● Boost in confidence and reduction in exam anxiety 
● Better preparation planning for university examinations 

Student Participation: Approximately 90 students participated in the session, demonstrating active involvement and keen interest throughout the lecture. The session was highly interactive. Students actively participated by asking questions and clarifying doubts related to exam preparation and study techniques. The engagement reflected their interest and eagerness to perform well in upcoming exams. 

Conclusion: The guest lecture was a great success and was well-received by the students. It proved to be highly beneficial in strengthening their academic readiness and motivating them to perform their best. Such initiatives play a vital role in providing practical exposure and enhancing students’ overall academic and professional development.  The Department of BMS looks forward to organizing more such informative and impactful sessions in the future.
