Goods Collection Drive

Date: 15th to 18th August 2019

Time: 8:30 am to 8:00 pm

Participants: NSS Volunteers of St. John Technical Campus NSS units (SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHS)

Venue: Mount View Supermarket, St. John Commercial Complex, Palghar

St. John Technical Campus – NSS Units, St. John College of Engineering and Management (SJCEM), St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research (SJIPR), St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (SJCHS) in association with Pintania offset PVT. LTD and Mountview supermarket took an initiative to create an awareness about the Clothes Collection drive. The Drive was planned for three days during the Independence Day week i.e 15th to 18th August 2019. The purpose of this activity to donate articles which are in good condition to be handed over to the villagers and kids of adopted villages of NSS units & rain affected villages at Palghar – district. Clothes (Pant/ Shirt / Saree/ Salwar/ Bedsheet), Utensils (Stainless steel / Aluminium), Laptop, LCD – Monitor, Desktop & Newspaper can be accepted in this drive. Mr. Alridge Dsouza (Member, Aldel Education Trust) and Mr. Jude Lobo (Commercial Manager, St. John Commercial Complex, Palghar) have put forward the idea of this drive.Total 98 volunteers participated from SJCEM, SJIPR, SJCHS Institutes. Mr. Sachin Urade (NSS Programme Officer, SJCEM), Mr. Sachin Gawali (NSS Programme officer, SJCHS), Ms. Sonam Yadav (NSS Programme officer, SJCEM) were present in this drive. There was huge response from local public of Palghar. Details of total collection is as mentioned further:- *Net Clothes : 2783 , *Net E- Waste – 1.28 kgs, *Net Newspaper – 54.27 kgs . 181 total visitors donated goods for this noble cause. Collected goods are kept ready for the future donation drive in adopted areas.

The Drive was coordinated by Mr. Sachin Urade and his team of NSS Programme officers of St. John Technical Campus – NSS Units. St. John Technical Campus encourages students to have such kind of events in campus and outside the campus which creates social awareness among students and develop their personalities.
