Flower Arrangement Workshop Organised

The Department of Hospitality Studies at St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (Autonomous), Palghar, organised a Flower Arrangement Workshop on 30th September 2026 at the SJCHS building. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Priyanka Khandekar, an expert in flower arrangement, from 930 a.m. to 230 p.m.

Mrs. Priyanka Khandekar demonstrated three styles of floral arrangement Ikebana, Freestyle and Western. She explained the principles of flower arrangement, including the selection and handling of flowers and foliage, balance, proportion, colour combinations and presentation. Second Year students received hands-on practical training, while students from all semesters and faculty members of Hospitality Studies participated in the workshop.

The session provided valuable practical exposure to floral decoration and its applications in hotels, restaurants, banquets, weddings and other hospitality settings. The workshop enhanced students’ creativity, aesthetic sense and practical skills, successfully connecting classroom learning with industry-oriented experience.
