DLLE Organises “Seva Vikri” Rakhi Exhibition and Sale

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) unit of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences (Autonomous), Palghar, in collaboration with Seva Vivek Gramvikas Kendra, Bhaliyali, organised a two-day “Seva Vikri” Rakhi Exhibition and Sale under the Aadivasi Mahila Kutumb Dattak Yojana on 24th and 25th August 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The exhibition was held at Yashwant Shrushti, Boisar, on 24th August and at the SJCHS Campus, Palghar, on 25th August.

The exhibition showcased 60 handcrafted bamboo Rakhis made by tribal women artisans, priced at ₹35/- each. The Rakhis were procured directly from the artisans and sold at the same price to promote their work, support sustainable livelihoods, and encourage the use of eco-friendly products during festive celebrations.

The activity was coordinated by DLLE faculty members Ms. Nisha Yadav (Coordinator), Ms. Lithiya Subramanium, Ms. Shaina Siddiqui, and Mr. Pranshukumar Singh, who were present at the SJCHS campus on 25th August to guide the initiative. A team of 33 DLLE students actively participated in managing the stalls, interacting with visitors, recording sales, and creating awareness about the tribal empowerment initiative.

The two-day activity provided students with valuable practical experience in community outreach and social engagement while supporting tribal artisans and promoting sustainable bamboo products.
