The Department of Commerce organized an Alumni Lecture Series for B.Com students on 14th  March 2026 (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m. in the CR 13, SJCHS. The objective of the session was  to provide students with practical exposure to the financial market and to guide them regarding  career opportunities in the field of derivatives and securities trading. 

The resource person for the session was Mr. Akash Ashokan, an alumnus of our college from  the B.Com Batch 2016–2019, currently working as a Derivative Analyst at Mansukh Securities. 

The program began with a welcome address followed by the campus prayer. The guest was  formally introduced and felicitated with a sapling as a token of appreciation by Principal  Ma’am Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob and Head of the Department Dr. Priya Chaurasiya. 

During the session, Mr. Akash Ashokan shared valuable insights about financial markets,  derivatives trading, and career opportunities in the securities market. He also shared his  professional experiences and provided practical guidance to students about the skills required  to build a career in the finance industry. 

A total of 57 students from FYBCom, SYBCom, and TYBCom attended the session and  actively participated. The interaction between the students and the resource person made the  session informative and engaging. 

The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Vedika Raut, expressing  gratitude to the guest speaker, Principal, Head of the Department, faculty members, and all  participants for contributing to the success of the event.
