The Future Starts Now: Careers, AI and Opportunities

The Commerce Association of St. John College of Humanities & Sciences (Autonomous), Palghar, organised a Career Guidance Session titled “The Future Starts Now: Careers, AI and Opportunities” on 6 August 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Event Hall. The session was attended by students of SYBCOM, SYBMS, SYBAF, SYBFM, SYBBI and SYIT.

The programme was anchored by Ms. Jasmine Lediyal, SYBCOM student and Member of the Commerce Association, and commenced with the Campus Prayer followed by the National Anthem. The resource person, CA Alok Kedia, CEO of Fastpro Finance Pvt. Ltd., is a distinguished Chartered Accountant with over 32 years of experience in the finance and banking sector. He has worked with reputed organisations, including IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank and Standard Chartered, and served as MD & CEO of Brickwork Ratings. He was felicitated with a sapling by Principal Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob as a token of appreciation.

During the session, CA Alok Kedia shared valuable insights into emerging career opportunities and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in accounting, finance, banking, commerce, management and business. He emphasised the importance of technological awareness, adaptability, continuous learning and professional skills in preparing for the evolving workplace. The session encouraged students to explore emerging career paths and enhance their employability.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Pratiksha Singh, SYBCOM student and Member of the Commerce Association. She expressed gratitude to CA Alok Kedia, Principal Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob, Dr. Priya Dilip Chaurasiya, IQAC Coordinator, faculty members and students for their valuable support and participation. The session concluded on a positive note, equipping students with greater awareness of career planning, AI-driven opportunities and future professional growth.
