Brief Description of the Activity:
The Women Development Cell (WDC) of St. John College of Humanities & Sciences organized an awareness session on “Cyber Crime Awareness: Click Smart, Stay Safe” on 27th March 2026. The session was conducted for second-year girl students to enhance their understanding of online safety and cyber threats.

The program commenced at 9:00 a.m. in the college Event Hall. The resource person, PSI Bhosale Banda, delivered an insightful session highlighting the increasing cases of cyber crimes, especially those targeting women.

The speaker explained various forms of cyber crimes such as phishing, identity theft, cyber stalking, online fraud, and social media misuse.

The session also focused on preventive strategies such as safeguarding personal information, using strong passwords, avoiding suspicious links, and being cautious on social media platforms. Students were informed about legal provisions, cyber laws, and official complaint procedures including helplines and cyber crime portals.
An interactive question-and-answer session was conducted where students actively participated and clarified their doubts. The session proved to be informative and engaging.

Need & Significance of the Activity: With the rapid expansion of digital technology, cyber crimes are increasing at an alarming rate. Many students lack awareness about online safety and legal remedies. This session helped bridge that gap by providing practical knowledge and guidance from a law enforcement officer. It contributed to building a safer and more informed student community

Feedback analysis: Positive feedback received. Participants found the session empowering and practical.
