Free Medical Camp for Women’s Health & Safety
Organized under Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan

Organized by: Women Development Cell (WDC), SJCHS In collaboration with: Vedantaa Institute of Medical Sciences, Dahanu 

Inauguration: The Free Medical Camp was inaugurated with a warm welcome speech delivered by Siddhi Mestry (Lady Representative, Student Council). The session commenced with the Universal Prayer, seeking blessings for the successful conduct of the camp. The Principal, faculty members, and council members extended their respect and gratitude by felicitating the esteemed doctors, nurses, social workers, and other supporting members who made this event possible. The Principal, Mrs. Mukta Jacob, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of women’s health and empowerment in today’s world. She highlighted that good health among women strengthens families, communities, and society as a whole. Following her speech, the event was officially declared open.

Consultations & Services Provided: The camp provided free medical consultations and awareness sessions on vital aspects of women’s health. The following services were provided throughout the day: • Guidance on menstrual issues such as irregular periods, hormonal imbalances, PCOS, and PCOD. 
• Consultations on gynecological problems and overall women’s health concerns. • Specialized advice on skin, hair, acne, and nail-related problems by dermatologists. • Breast cancer examination, made compulsory for all girl students to promote awareness and early detection. 

Doctors: The camp was graced by the presence of highly qualified doctors from Vedantaa Institute of Medical Sciences, who extended their expertise and compassionate care. The doctors present included: 
• Dr. Kiran Kopale – MD Dermatologist (JR-1) 
• Dr. Priyanka Bharati – MBBS/MD Gynaecologist (JR-2) 
• Dr. Prachi Thawari – MBBS (OBGY) 
• Dr. Poonam Kandhe – MD Dermatologist (JR-2) 
• Dr. Sambhavi Pathak – MD Surgery (JR-1) 
• Dr. Sannndhi Shetty – MD Surgery (JR-1) 
• Dr. Rutuja Sanjay More – MBBS, MS OBGY (JR) 
• Dr. Soumya Yadav – MBBS Intern

Supporting Team: In addition to the medical professionals, several other dedicated individuals supported the smooth conduct of the camp. Their efforts ensured efficient organization, smooth flow of activities, and timely assistance to participants. 
• 3 Nurses 
• 2 Social Workers 
• 1 Camp Coordinator 
• 1 Driver 

Total Participants: The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students as well as teaching and non-teaching staff. The statistics are as follows: 
• Students attended for check-up: 172 
• Teaching & Non-teaching staff: 63 
• Total Participants: 235 

Conclusion: The Free Medical Camp for Women’s Health & Safety was a highly successful initiative that underscored the institution’s commitment towards women’s empowerment, health, and overall well-being. The collaborative efforts of doctors, staff, students, and volunteers ensured not just free medical consultations but also the spreading of awareness on critical health issues. This initiative marked an important step towards encouraging women to prioritize their health, thereby fostering a healthier and stronger community..
