The Department of B.Com, in collaboration with Tally Academy, Boisar organized a 30Hour Value Added Certificate Course on Tally Prime with GST for TYBCOM students was from 18th August 2025 to 26th  August 2025.

Target Group: TYBCom Students

Objective of the Course: The course aimed to enhance students’ practical knowledge of accounting software while equipping them with essential professional skills. Through hands-on training in Tally Prime with GST, students learned both foundational and advanced accounting operations, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements.

Day-Wise Summary

Day 1 – 18th August 2025
Theme: Fundamentals of Tally Prime
Students were introduced to the overview and significance of Tally Prime.
Topics covered: company creation, shutting/opening a company, shortcut keys, Chart of Accounts, cost centers, inventory management, and GST setup.
The session emphasized hands-on learning, where students practiced operations directly in the lab.
Students gained confidence in navigating the software and performing basic functions.

Day 2 – 21st August 2025
Theme: Gateway of Tally – Ledgers, Units, and Stock Items
Focused on creating ledgers, measurement units, and stock items to set up the accounting structure.
Emphasis was placed on inventory management and its relevance to real-life business.
Students practiced under guided supervision, improving technical accuracy and practical application.

Day 3 – 22nd August 2025
Theme: Altering Masters (Ledgers, Units, Stock Items)
Students learned to alter existing records to maintain accurate and updated financial data.
Practical tasks included modifying ledgers, updating units of measurement, and altering stock items.
Emphasis on real-world relevance: correcting errors, updating information, and maintaining consistency in accounts.

Day 4 – 23rd August 2025
Theme: Deletion and Alteration of Data
Covered methods for deleting ledgers, units, and stock items, with emphasis on accuracy and error management.
Demonstrated precautions while deleting entries to avoid disrupting linked transactions.
Students also learned to alter company information (name, statutory details, financial year, etc.) for real-life scenarios.

Day 5 – 25th August 2025
Theme: GST Posting Entries
Focused on GST compliance in Tally Prime, including:
Recording purchase and sales transactions under GST.
Input and Output GST posting.
Adjusting GST ledgers.
Generating GST-compliant invoices and vouchers.
Students practiced extensively with real-life examples, building confidence in managing GST transactions.

Day 6 – 26th August 2025
Theme: Company Creation with GST – Final Session
Comprehensive recap: from company creation to enabling GST features and configuring compliance.
Practical work on ledgers, GST rates, and preparing company data for taxation.

Valedictory session: Principal Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob and HoD Ms. Priya D. Chaurasiya felicitated the trainer.
Students and trainer shared feedback; students expressed that the course was highly beneficial, and Mr. Joshi suggested longer sessions for deeper coverage.

Outcomes of the Course: Students gained practical expertise in Tally Prime with GST, covering both fundamental and advanced operations.
The interactive and hands-on teaching style ensured strong student engagement and learning.
The course built confidence in handling accounting software, especially in areas of company creation, ledger/stock management, GST compliance, and error rectification.
It successfully bridged theory with practice, preparing students for both academic and professional applications.
