Webinar on International Mother Language Day

Webinar on International Mother Language Day Literary Club organised a Webinar on “International Mother Language Day” on 2Oth February 2021 from 12 pm to 1 pm. International Mother Language Day is observed worldwide on 21 February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism. he idea to celebrate International Mother Language Day was the initiative of Bangladesh. It was approved at the 1999 UNESCO General Conference and has been observed throughout the world since 2000. The theme set by UNESCO of the 2021 International Mother Language Day, “Fostering multilingualism for inclusion in education and society,” recognizes that languages and multilingualism can advance inclusion, and the Sustainable Development Goals’ focus on leaving no one behind. The session began with Ms. Sarah Roy, Co-ordinator of Literary Club welcoming the participants and introducing the resource person. The guest speaker was Ms. Elena Sajan, faculty of St. Thomas College, Ranni in Kerala. The session was attended by students of various departments of the college and received a positive response. The total participants were 110. The session was attended by participants in Google Meet and YouTube Live. The session ended with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Vijay Songire.

Webinar on “Gender Sensitivity”

Webinar on “Gender Sensitivity” An online guest session was arranged by Women Development Cell on “Gender Sensitivity” on 6/2/21 for SY BMS & SY BAF, using Google meet platform from 2 pm to 3 pm by Ms. Abhilasha Gupta, Associate Professor, M.K.Sanghvi College of Commerce & Economics, JVPD, Juhu & a Trained Counselor in REBT Therapy from Heart to Heart Institute, Byculla. Total 61 students attended the session. The session was a great success in terms of the knowledge & understanding received by the students.

Webinar on How to use and Participate Responsibly on Virtual Platforms

Webinar on How to use and Participate Responsibly on Virtual Platforms St. John Technical and Educational Campus – NSS units of SJCHS, SJCEM, SJIPR organized webinar on how to use and participate responsibly on Virtual Platforms on 6th February 2021, at 4:00 to 5:00 pm. The objective of this session was to create awareness among all the students about Basic Etiquettes, Behaviour, Technical Awareness while attending online lectures. Ms. Shraddha More (Asst. Prof. Department of Information Technology) was the resource person for the event. The introduction speech was given by Ms. Rushika Tevar, S.Y.BMS NSS Volunteer of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences. Ms.Shraddha More gave brief introduction on importance of online lectures after Covid 19 pandemic situation, challenges faced by faculty and students, online basic etiquette to all volunteers while attending online classes, lectures on various online platforms like Google meet and Zoom. She even informed students how to use Chat box, Overall Behaviour, different types of difficulties of students about online classes and how to overcome it. She also explained the different types of Interview etiquettes while attending interviews on virtual platforms, Responsive participants, Presentation, Communication skills, Body language, Online video Interview, Dos and Dont’s while attending interviews. 104 students including NSS and Non – NSS volunteers attended session online via Google meet and You tube live. Students from University of Mumbai and other NSS units also participated on You tube live. The session was interactive and many queries were asked by the students to the resource person. Many students appreciated the initiative and gave a positive feedback and requested to conduct such programmes more often. The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Showkiya Khan, S.Y.B. PHARM NSS Volunteer St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research, Palghar. St. John Technical and Educational Campus Always organized innovative and technical based programmes to develop skills of the students.

Webinar on “Understanding needs of counselling of near & dear ones for students” An online guest session was arranged by Women Development Cell on “Understanding needs of counselling of near & dear ones for students on ” on 6/2/21 for TY BMS & TY BAF, using Google meet platform from 3 pm to 4 pm by Ms. Abhilasha Gupta, Associate Professor, M.K.Sanghvi College of Commerce & Economics, JVPD, Juhu & a Trained Counselor in REBT Therapy from Heart to Heart Institute, Byculla. Total 66 students attended the session. The session was a great success in terms of the knowledge & understanding received by the students.

Webinar on “The virtual show-around: The Leela Palace Bengaluru”

Webinar on “The virtual show-around: The Leela Palace Bengaluru” The Department of B.Sc. (Hospitality Studies) of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, Palghar had organised a webinar on the virtual show round of the five star hotel named “The Leela Palace, Bengaluru. Students of First Year, Second Year and Third Year of Hospitality Studies attended the webinar. The webinar commenced with the introduction of Mr Dhaval Kolhapure, Associate Director of SalesThe Leela Palace Bengaluru by Mr. Ranjan Sharma (T.Y. B.Sc. HS). The motive behind conducting this webinar was to introduce the hotel by virtual visit in the current pandemic scenario. The webinar started with the orientation of the hotel such as number of rooms, types of rooms, number of Functional Areas such as ballroom, banqueting and so on. Mr. Kolhapure also explained about the covid-19 situation and explained the way they handled the hotel in this pendamic. With the help of videos/photos Mr. Kolhapure even explained the details of the hotel how they function. A thank you speech was given by Mr. Ranjan Sharma (T.Y. B.Sc. HS) at the end of the session.
