Science Fest 2020 A report on Science Fest 2020 – IT Science Fest was organized in the St. John Technical Campus on 18th January 2020. Total 148 students visited B.Sc. (I.T.) counselling stall. Students were counselled regarding B.Sc. (I.T.) degree program, how it can be beneficial for them to build their carrier. In addition to the enhanced career prospects that can be gained by taking B.Sc. (I.T.), students also develop valuable personal skills and fulfil a crucial prerequisite to Master studies. To create the interest in field of technology, we kept two small games using coding and graphics. A Report on Science Fest 2020 – Commerce Department of CommerceDepartment of Management (BMS)Department of Arts“Science Fest 2020” is an annual event organized on 18th January 2020 at St. John Technical and Educational campus.Science Fest aims at introducing young students to a scientific environment and inculcate in them a desire to seek additional knowledge and skills in the areas of their interest. Students of all Institutes within the campus showcased and demonstrated their innovative projects and ideas.The chief guest was Mr. Baban Jadhav, Senior Manager JSW, who inaugurated the event and addressed the participants. The theme for the Science Fest 2020 was “Science and Technology”. A total number of 19 schools and 11 junior colleges participated in the Fest. All the institutes in the campus including St. John College of Humanities and Sciences had their own career guidance stall, to council and guide the students and parents. A numerous possibilities available for higher education/career and thereby ensure a good and bright future.Career decision play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth and development of the students. In today’s environment, of multiple options knowing about choices helps children in their decision making process. Career counselling session was conducted by faculty members of Department of Commerce, Department of Management (BMS) and Department of Arts. The session aimed at making the students aware of various courses available after SSC and HSC. Counsellors shared information regarding various universities. Counsellors urged the students not to make decisions based on family expectations and peer pressure. Counsellors guided the students to identify their interest and what they are good at.The Science Fest 2020 was truly crowd pulling event as 106 students registered themselves at the counselling desk. Flower Arrangement & Origami Counter Flower arrangementLinen origami(different flower arrangements & Origami was showcased) Room Layout(Double room) Highlights of the Event:The event was a success for the Hospitality Services, as there was great participation from the students and the spectators (customers). Though there was overall deficit in the P & L, when compared with the F & B cost and sale, there was profit. A big chunk of cost was Decorators – Stall charges.The event saw more number of customers on day 1 compare to last year’s Day 1. Everybody enjoyed the food and beverages and enjoyed the complimentary sessions on Flower arrangements & origami.Feedback’s:To do adequate provision of food and beverages specially on the first day as to avoid running out of any of the food or beverage.To adhere to the hygiene rules and regulations in better way.
Science Fest 2019 The Science Fest 2018-19 was organized in Aldel Education Trust’s St John’s Technical and Educational Campus on 25th January 2019 and 26th January 2019. Department of Commerce and Department of Management (BMS) displayed four projects: Unified Payments Interface Payment Banks Evolution of Medium of exchange E- Wallets Department of B.Sc(IT) presented projects:1. Gas Automation System: T.Y. B.Sc (IT)2. Automatic Voice Controlled Car: F.Y. B.Sc(IT) Department of B.Sc(HS) Hospitality department had put up various Food and Beverage Stalls. Details of the same are as follows: Mocktail Counter (Chill Maar): Blue lagoon, Cold coffee, LXG Chinese Counter(The Emperor’s Shack): Sinking Island, Floating strings Wrap Counter(Gully Wrap):Aloo chaat wrap, Chole wrap, Butter chicken wrap, Kathi roll Sweet Counter(Tutti Fruitti): Pancake, Doughnut, Churros Flower & Origami Counter(Jungle Safari): Flower arrangement, Linen origami
Science Fest 2017 The Science Fest 2017 was conducted on 25th and 26th January 2017. Science Fest– “A journey from Science to Innovative Technology” is an annual 2-days event organized every year on 25th and 26th January at St.John Technical and Educational Campus. The theme for the Science Fest 2017 was “Science In The Service Of Humanity”. The students of St.John Technical Campus had put up stalls for Career guidance, NSS center, Games stalls, Management Infoline and Warli products. The MMS department had their own Career Guidance stalls to counsel and guide the students/ parents on numerous possibilities available for higher education/ career and there by ensure a good and bright future. The students of all the institutes showcased some of their innovative projects and ideas to make the science fest an enriching experience for all. All the Institutes in the St.John Technical Campus participated in the Fest. The winners were felicitated by the Chief Guest with trophies, cash prizes and certificates whereas all the participants were given certificates.

Science Festaims at introducing young students to a scientific environment and inculcating in them a desire to seek additional knowledge and skills in areas of their interest. Students of all Institutes within the campus showcase and demonstrate their innovative projects and ideas. Some of the projects exhibited by students of St. John College of Engineering and Technology were –Smart city model, Smart Road Control, Automatic Irrigation of plants, Web Cam based Face Detection, Electricity Generation from Salt-water, Roof Ventilator Wind Turbine, etc. The students from St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research displayed projects like –Organic Planting (Terrace Farming), Extraction of DNA, Renal Revitalization, Safe Use of Opthalmic Preparation, etc. The stalls put up by the students of St. John Institute of Management and Research were Career guidance, NSS centre, Games stalls, Management Infoline and Warliproducts. Some of the projects showcased by the students of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences were – Tsunami Indicator, Working of stock exchange, Flower arrangements. The Hospitality students had prepared delicious food items as a part of Food Court stalls. All Institutes on the campus including St. John International School and Aldel Tutorial Academy had their own Career Guidance stall to counsel and guide the students / parents on numerous possibilities available for higher education / career and thereby ensure a good and bright future. Science Fest also provides a platform to students of other schools and colleges in the belt of Vasai to Valsad, to exhibit their projects / talent / creativity through theme based competitions. The theme for Science Fest 2016 was “Science, Society & Environment”. The topic for inter-school level competition was “Health, Nutrition and cleanliness”. The inter-college junior and senior level competitions had the topics “Nurture Nature” and “Erase Your E-Waste” respectively. A total number of 19 schools and 3 junior college participated in the competition. The Chief Guest was Ms. SharadaRaut (IPS) – Superintendent of Police, Palghar District, who inaugurated the event and addressed the participants. The Chairman of Aldel Education Trust, Mr. Albert W. D’Souza welcomed the Chief Guest, Principals of the various Institutes on the campus and all participants. Simultaneously, St. John Institute of Management and Research had organized inter-collegiateseminar “Srijan” based on the theme “Sustainable Development – Save the Environment, Save the World.” Total 20 teams represented their colleges in poster making and presentation competition on topic “Environmental Sustainability – A Road to Sustainable Development.” Mr. NeerajPurohit, General Manager and MR of Gini Silk Mills P. Ltd. was the key note speaker. As a part of Science Fest, St. John College of Humanities and Sciences had arranged “Enthusia – The Youth Fest”, a cultural fest comprising of various inter-collegiate competitions like singing, group dance, skit, bio-rangoli, etc. All the winners were felicitated by the Chief Guest with trophies, cash prize and certificates whereas all the participants were given certificates. The Science fest 2016 was truly a crowd pulling event as about 4000 people visited the campus and had an enriching experience of the different events under the umbrella of Science Fest. The entire campus was abuzz with activities for these two days.
