Movie PINK was screened to create awareness The image of Women has always been presented as low profile in the Male dominated society. Movies play a vital role in bringing a paradigm shift in the thinking patterns of the society as a whole. Good movies are not merely depiction of emotions, but have remained successful many a time to leave a message for the society.Keeping this in mind, the Women Development Cell of SJCHS arranged the show of movie PINK in room no.12, SJCHS for students on 15/02/2020 (Saturday).The strong message on – A NO IS A NO was taken by the students after watching the movie.Total 98 students watched the movie.

 Web Designing Contest “WebBattle”

Web Designing Contest “WebBattle” Department of B.Sc.(I.T.) had organized web designing contest “Web Battle” on 12th February, 2020. The theme for the contest was “Website for B.Sc. (I.T.) Department”. Students were given the data and images of B.Sc.(I.T.) department. They were asked to prepare a website containing at least 5 pages and from that first page must be your Homepage (Containing LOGO/picture depicting the topic and the website name). Three pages must be dedicated to the discussion suitable for the website. The last page must be Information Hub that provides details about B.Sc.(I.T.) department. Permitted Programming Language were Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Java Script etc. Total 15 students participated in the contest. Mr. Prashant Saini and Mr. Abhishek Behara are the winners.

Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace

Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace A session on “Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace”(Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal, Act 2013, and its implementation Procedure) ” was conducted in accordance with Mumbai University circular No: REG/ICD/2019-29/4  by Women Development Cell. on 11th February in Classroom No.6, SJCHS.The speaker Dr. Upma Paliwal guided the teaching staff about the meaning and types of Sexual Harassment at workplace along with the prevention, prohibition and redressal procedure in accordance with Mumbai Circular No. RG/ICD/2019-29/4. Total 27 faculties got benefitted through the session.

Theme Dinner, ‘Turkish Delight’

Theme Dinner, ‘Turkish Delight’ Students of T.Y. B.Sc. HS successfully conducted the Theme Dinner, ‘Turkish Delight’ on Saturday, 29th February 2020. As part of their curriculum students of T.Y. B.Sc. HS had organized an event under ‘Event Planning Marketing Management’. On the day of the event 70 guests were invited and enjoyed the Turkish delicacy. The event planning and preparation had started a month prior to the event. The first meeting was conducted on 27th January 2020 by TY HS students and faculties of HS department in which event theme, name of the event and all the departments’ students in-charge were finalized. Students got the sponsorship for the event from the different organizations and retailers. Mrs. Anuja Dalvi ( G. D. Ambekar College) visited the event for the evaluation of the event as an external examiner. The event started at 6.00 pm in the evening where the front office students welcomed the guest. The guest were offered Turkish Blood as a welcome drink. Turkish culture & their cuisine was showcased through a video presentation and information about the same was given to all the guest. Once seated the guest were served with starters and drinks. Live counters were set to serve BBQ starters. A bar serving the drinks was set as well at the location. Guest could see their food and drinks getting ready in front of them. Cultural programme and games were arranged to entertain the guests. Guest enjoyed their food and drinks along with the entertainment. All gave positive feedbacks of the food and the service. They were amased with the kind of arrangements done by the students and encouraged them to conduct such more events in the future. Students thanked all the dignitaries and the guest for making their event successful with their participation and contribution. A momento of the event was given to all the guests before biding farewell to them.

Enthusia 2020

Enthusia 2020 The annual intercollegiate event ‘Enthusia- The Youth Fest’ was organised on 13th and 14th January 2020. The event comprised of 26 events that included speaking arts, performing arts, culinary skills, artistic skills and other talents. There were total 585 students, out of which 416 students belonged to other colleges and 169 students belonged to St. John college of Humanities and Sciences. The maximum participation was from SDSM college(103), followed by  N.B.Mehta College (90). Amongst other colleges that participated were St. Joseph College of Arts and Science, Viva Arts, Science and Commerce College, Katgara Polytechnic College, Yashwantrao Chapekar College, Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers, SSR College (Silvasa), SAS College, D.K. Patil College, P.L. Shroff College and other colleges from St. John Technical and Educational Campus such as St.John College of Engineering and Management, St.John College of Pharmacy and Research and St. John Junior College. The day one of the fest comprised of literary arts, culinary arts, speaking arts and performing arts. The lucrative event of the day was Box Cricket, where 25 teams participated making the event a grand success. The total number of students that participated in various events on that day were 488. The second day comprised of stage events comprising of dance, fashion designing and personality contest. The total number of students participating in various events that was 79. The signature event  Mr and Ms. Enthusia had total 23 students participants. The judge for the said event was Ms. Dhanshree Sankhe, Founder and Managing Director of Mr. & Miss Allure India, Founder and CEO of Allure Salons and Spa, columnist in Lokmat Newspaper. Mr. Krishna Sharma &Ms. Sanika Raut were crowned as Mr. & Ms. Enthusia. The top 5 male and female participants of this event were given wild card entry into ‘Mr. & Miss Allure India’ which is a national level pageant event. The fest was concluded with a valedictory function. The event started with a message from the honourable Chairman Sir’s invigorating message to the students. The chief guest for the same was Shri. Gaurav Singh (IPS), S.P of Palghar. He conducted an interactive session with students, where students sought guidance for their professional as well as personal queries. The ‘ Best College Award’, securing most number of prizes in various events was given to SDSM college. The ‘Best Contingency Leader Award’ was  given to Ms. Neha Urade from SDSM college, who displayed excellent communication and coordination skills and brought maximum participation to the event. The event was concluded with singing of National Anthem.
