NSS Unit Organises Blood Donation Camp, Collects 106 Units
The NSS Unit of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences organised a Blood Donation Camp on 10 September 2026, from 8:00 a.m. onwards, at the College Event Hall, in collaboration with Dr. R. N. Cooper Hospital Blood Centre. The camp was coordinated by Mr. Ameer Shaikh, NSS Programme Officer.
The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation, raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donation, and contribute towards saving lives. The camp included participant registration, preliminary health screening, and blood testing, followed by donation under medical supervision. Proper arrangements and hygienic conditions were maintained to ensure a safe and smooth process.
A total of 106 units of blood were successfully collected, with 10 volunteers actively assisting in organising the camp. The collected blood will help patients in need through the associated blood bank. The initiative encouraged students to participate in community service and support this life-saving cause.
