Annual Sports Day held on 12th and 13th December 2025

St. John College of Humanities & Sciences (Autonomous) successfully organized its Annual Sports Day 2025–2026 on 12th and 13th December 2025, bringing together students and faculty members in a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness. The two-day sporting event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments.

The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the college Big Ground, marked by the hoisting of colour flags and the presence of Mr. Aldridge Dsouza, faculty members and students. The sports activities were coordinated by Dr. Harshal V. Poojari, Head of the B.Sc. Department and Sports Coordinator, along with a dedicated team of faculty members and student coordinators.

On Day 1 (12 December 2025), multiple indoor and outdoor sports competitions were conducted simultaneously across different venues of the campus. Outdoor events included Football and Throwball, while indoor competitions such as Carrom, Chess, and Table Tennis were held at the SJCHS Event Hall and SJCEM Sports Room. These events witnessed keen participation from students, demonstrating both competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

On Day 2 (13 December 2025), the excitement continued with major sporting events such as Box Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, and Basketball conducted at the Big Ground, Small Ground, SJCHS Parking Area, and Pharmacy Court respectively. Students actively competed in teams and individual matches, making the event lively and engaging.

The successful execution of the sports meet was made possible through the collective efforts of faculty coordinators, event heads, volunteers, and student coordinators who ensured smooth management of each competition. Adequate sports equipment, proper arrangements, and well-organized scheduling contributed to the overall success of the program.

The Annual Sports Day concluded on a high note, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and holistic development among students. The event not only encouraged healthy competition but also strengthened camaraderie and unity within the campus community.

Under the guidance and support of the Principal, Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob, the sports event proved to be a memorable and energetic celebration of talent and sports culture at the college.
