World Wildlife Week Celebration - Intercollegiate Online Competitions

Report on World Wildlife Week Celebration

In the first week of October, the Greenovation Green Club at St. John College of Humanities and Sciences, in collaboration with the B.Sc. Department, successfully celebrated World Wildlife Week by organizing an intercollegiate event. The theme of the event was “Restoring Nature’s Balance: Protecting Wildlife for a Sustainable Future.” The event aimed to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and promote creative expression among students through various competitions. Submissions for all activities were conducted online, and 42 students of seven colleges of Palghar District have participated in the event. The celebration featured a range of competitions that encouraged participants to showcase their talents and convey the importance of wildlife conservation. The events included:

  • Essay Competition
  • Poster Making Competition
  • Animation Competition
  • Photography Competition
  • Reel/Short Video Making Competition
  • Poetry Competition
  • Doodle Making Competition

To ensure fair judgment, the following individuals were appointed as judges: Ms. Siena Dbritto, Mr. Ameer Shaikh, Ms. Gazal Asar and Ms. Roshal Crasta

Conclusion:

The World Wildlife Week celebration by the Green Club of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences was a resounding success. The event not only encouraged intercollegiate participation but also highlighted the creativity and passion of students towards environmental conservation and wildlife protection. The collaborative effort with the B.Sc. Department and the expertise of the judges ensured a fair and engaging competition. The theme of “Restoring Nature’s Balance” resonated throughout the week, reinforcing the importance of protecting wildlife for a sustainable future.
