The 133rd birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan was celebrated at St. John College of Humanities and Sciences on 12th August 2025. Dr. Ranganathan, an eminent Indian librarian and educator, is widely known as the Father of Library Science in India. His pioneering contributions have had a lasting impact on libraries and their services not only in India but across the world.

Principal, Dr. Muktha Manoj Jacob, garlanded the photo of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan and spoke about the importance of libraries in academic and personal development. Mr. Rajendra Sawant, Assistant Librarian, shared insights into the life, achievements, and remarkable contributions of Dr. Ranganathan to the field of library science. He also spoke on the significance of the occasion and proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The event was attended by staff, faculty members, and students. A book exhibition was also organized as part of the celebration, benefiting both staff and students alike.
