Biodiversity and importance of Herbarium

The guest lecture organised by the Department of Botany on 30 September 2023 was on the topic ‘Biodiversity and importance of Herbarium’, Dr. Jayananda Tosh was the resource person. He gave a brief lecture on Biodiversity, its components, and how all organisms are totally dependent on each other. A miniscule imbalance in ecology can prove disastrous. 

Dr. Tosh In his lecture gave points on how to adjust our lifestyle so as to conserve the natural resources which inevitably will reduce the harmful effects of anthropological activities. Following Biodiversity, Dr. Tosh sir described the herbarium, the step by step process of making herbariums, from field visit planning to equipment needed to the procedure.It was a very interesting and informational experience for students and faculties.
