Awareness Rally on Human Rights Day

On December 10th, 2025 Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences Autonomous Celebrated International Human Rights day by conducting An Awareness rally on Human Rights for Extension Students at Ambedkar Nagar, Palghar east.  DLLE coordinator Ms. Vaishnavi Sankhe and WDC  Coordinator Dr. Akansha Thakur of St. John College of Humanities and Sciences conducted this rally along with 56 students using Posters and slogan boards. Students prepared Posters during Poster making competition held in SJCHS on 6th December. The activity aimed to sensitize the local community regarding the significance of basic human rights that ensure dignity, equality, and freedom for all.

The rally began at Ambedkar Nagar Chowk, Palghar (East), where students assembled with great enthusiasm. Marching towards the St. John College campus, they raised powerful slogans such as “Everyone’s Rights, Everyone Fights!” and “Darr Nahi, Manavadhikar Sahi!” These energetic chants drew the attention of the local residents, effectively spreading awareness about the importance of protecting and respecting human rights.

The primary objective of the rally was to educate and empower the nearby community about their fundamental rights and highlight the necessity of upholding human dignity.The rally concluded at 10:00 AM at the college campus, followed by a photo session and a formal vote of thanks. The event successfully promoted human rights awareness while encouraging students to take active roles in community-based initiatives and social outreach activities.
