Over the last decade the number of foreign travelers to India is on the rise. This is not only for the increasing business opportunities, but also because of India being a popular destination for medical tourism, rural tourism, heritage tourism, pleasure tourism and adventure tourism. According to the tourism ministry, 4.4 million tourists visited India in 2010 and as the trend continues the demand is expected to soar to approximately 10 million!!! The World Travel and Tourism Council data says India ranks 18th in business travel and will be among the top 5 in this decade. All this indicates the growing need of professionals in the Hospitality Industry. The manpower requirements of this industry were about 7 million in 2002 but were estimated to increase to above 15 million by the end of 2011.

In the current scenario then, trained and skilled professionals are the need of the hour. It is to meet this need and also give an opportunity to students from the rural belt of Thane District to enter this profession, that Aldel Education Trust has started the ‘St. John College of Humanities and Sciences’ (SJCHS). At this Institute we offer the three-year B.Sc. (Hospitality Studies) program of University of Mumbai.

St. John Technical Education Complex is located at Palghar which falls in the rural and coastal belt of Palghar District, Maharashtra With its beautiful beaches and serene atmosphere this is a accepted destination and houses several resorts and hotels.

At SJCHS holistic development of every student will be ensured. Competency in skills and a dimensional progress is what we expect from our students to make them gainfully employable. With trainings and internships the Institute desires to let students get hands on experience of the curriculum and thus prepare them for the Industry.
